What has changed about the FAFSA for 2024-25?
Alot! TheFAFSASimplification Act streamlined theFAFSAapplication processtomaketheform easier to completeand financial aid moreaccessibletoall students. If your student did not qualifyfor aid in thepast,theymaynow qualify.
Why is the FAFSA delayed?
Technical issues.After thenew,simplified 2024-25 FAFSAform launched in December,they found that theaid calculation formula needed tobeupdated.Asa result, universitiesacross thecountryareexperiencing delaysin processing and allocating financial aid.
When should I fill out the FAFSA?
Assoon aspossible.Submitting theFAFSAnow can maximizetheamount of aid your student mayreceive.BesuretheyincludeUNO?sschool code(002554)on theFAFSAform.

Studentsmayenroll during their assigned Registration Timein MavLINKor afterwardsvia their MavLINKenrollment tab.Returning students that arenot currentlyenrolled in classeswill be allowed to register for classesduring theopen enrollment period.

TheSamuelBakMuseum:TheLearningCenteratUNOcelebratesitsfirstanniversary asahubforart,learning,andcommunityengagement.
Sinceopeningin2023,themuseumhashostedover6,300visitors,includingK-12students, communitymembers,andUNOfaculty,staff,andstudents.
UNO'scollaborationwithHolocaustsurvivorandartistSamuelBakledtotheexhibition of70originalartworksoncampusin2019.Bak'ssubsequentdonationofa512-piece collectionpavedthewayforthemuseum,dedicatedtopromotingunderstandingand empathythroughartandeducation.
Currently,themuseumfeaturestheexhibition"BecomingaWitness:FromAbstraction toFiguration,"whichexploresBak'sjourneyinbearingwitnesstotheHolocaustandthe roleofmemorialsintoday'ssociety.Italsodelvesintobroaderthemesofviolence,genocide, andthediversityofAmericanmemories.Complementarypublicprogramsincludemonthly guestlectures,curatortalks,andcollaborationswithlocalartists.

UNOSPIRITTRIPS
Throughout theyear,UNO'sOfficeof Spirit,Tradition,andSignatureEventsoffers studentsanexcitingopportunitytobuildschool spirit!KnownasSpirit Trips,students travel together,near andfar,toshowoff their lovefor theMavericks.Thepurposeof thesetripsistoboost morale,celebrateUNOsportsteams,andbringstudentscloser together tocreateastrongsenseof community,bothonandoff campus.
?Seeinghowthestudent sectioncomesout tosupport usisamazing.Not just at home gameswithall thesigns,flags,andgettingthestudent sectionextraloud,but they alsotravel withus,?saidNolanSullivan,OmahaHockeyCaptain.
Oneof thebiggest benefitsof thesetripsistheir affordability.Recognizingthediverse needsof thestudent body,effortsaremadetokeepcostsaffordablewithoutcompromisingonthequalityof theexperience.
?Thetripsaremuchcheaper thanif youweretogoalone.Manyof thesearetripsI probablywouldn't havebeenabletoaffordwithout thesupport of thestudent involvement office.So,I thinkthat wasreallyimportant,?saidNolanWilliams,ajunior at UNO.

?Spirit Tripsreallychangedmycollegeexperience.Before,I wasmostlyjust astudent whowent toclassandthenwent homeor towork.I never reallydidany extracurricular activitiesor anythinglikethat,unlessit wasrequiredfor my scholarship.But goingonthesetrips,meetingnewpeople,andeverything,it opened upawholenewworldof gettinginvolvedoncampusfor me,?saidCaseyWells, president of theMaverickManiacsandsenior at UNO.
