Read the full update here for exceptions and more details. VACCINE INFORMATION The Office of Health Security strongly encourages all students, faculty, and staff to take advantage of COVID-19 vaccination opportunities by signing up for an appointment or attending a walk-in clinic as soon as possible. WELCOME BACK, MAVERICKS!
MEET CHANCELLOR LI
Nothing beats having our new and returning Mavericks on campus together for the fall semester. There are so many things to look forward to, and the fun has already begun. Students enjoyed Durango Days festivities during the first two weeks of classes and started the semester with a bang at UNO Convocation, the “opening ceremonies” of the Fall 2021 Semester, complete with a fireworks show!
In a historic appointment, the University of Nebraska Board of Regents unanimously confirmed Joanne Li, Ph.D., CFA, as the 16th chancellor of the University of Nebraska at Omaha earlier this summer. Li assumed the role of chancellor on July 1 and became the first woman of color to serve as UNO chancellor and the first Asian-American in the history of the University of Nebraska system to hold an executive leadership role. Chancellor Li is passionate about engaging with the UNO community. Since arriving in Omaha, Dr. Li has hit the ground running, diligently meeting with faculty, staff, and students to listen and get to know UNO. She held a Student Town Hall on August 30 and hosted A Cup with Jo on August 25, a casual meet and greet with free coffee and beverages for students! Watch the video below, which was sent to the UNO community on the first day of classes, to hear Chancellor Li discuss the opportunities the Fall 2021 Semester holds and encourage everyone to do their part to keep UNO safe and healthy.
Watch an introduction video from Dr. Li.
