Tigers dominate Cheerdance tilt by Joshua Steven Calvo
The College of Engineering (COE), once again proved that they are the Home of the Champions, as they successfully defended their crown and clawed their way to victory, in the Cheerdance Competition earlier at the University Week 2019 Opening Program at the university amphitheater. Tigers also bagged the Most Disciplined,
and Most Participative awards. “Actually, half of my team were part of my old team while half of them are new, so I set proper expectations and mindsets accordingly. I put it in my mind that defending the crown is a very difficult thing to do, so I prepared them the best I can and hoped for the best, “ Ronald Alonzo, trainer of the Tigers, said. College of Education followed after COE, bagging 1st
Runner Up while the College of Arts and Sciences placed 2nd Runner Up. The Senior High School Department, represented by selected Grade 12 students and the SHS faculty, also participated in the said competition with a Jaguar-themed performance. The Cheerdance Competition was the highlight of the Opening Ceremony of U-Week 2019.

With whom do you plan to spend UWEEK with?
“I would spend my U-WEEK with the people I love and that is my friends and colleagues because spending time with them feels like you are really enjoying, compare to the strangers that you don’t know and it will be a great experience because I have here new found friends.”
uweek = food
Melody Joy Lumauag BOLD and VIBRANT. Numerous food stalls fill the corners of the University grounds and as the delicious scent of mouth-watering delectables waft the yard, one cannot simply resist to take a bite. As part of the celebration of the University Week, a huge number of must-see features are included and such are sights to behold. U-Week cannot be considered complete without the presence of your everyday go-to and affordable booths filled with diverse eatables and drinks. Everywhere you look, a stall just standing in the corner is waiting for you to empty your pockets and dig in. The blinding daylight fills the sky and the heat of the day’s event drains the energy, however, one must not fret since the refreshments are just one jump away. Thirsty? No problem! Hungry? We got you covered! Ranging from invigorating Insta-worthy milkteas, to the stimulating scent of freshly brewed caffeine; the salty aftertaste of French fries to the nostalgic Chowking’s Haloby
Trisha Elaine Salanap, 11-src01 What do you think is your greatest contribution to the university week?
“My contribution for this u-week is by buying local product here in UNOR and also attending activities all throughout the week. I will encourage my friends in other schools to go here in UNOR and enjoy UWEEK.”
Angel Mae Laspinas, 11-stv02 What do you think is the essence of UWEEK celebration?
“For me, the essence of UWEEK celebration is to develop school community through unity and order to collaborate with other schools.”

halo, everything is set for everyone to choose from. All you need is to order and it shall be served. The spirit of the event is for everyone to enter fresh and leave full, be it in heart or in stomach. Nonetheless, it is undeniable that no material thing could ever compare to genuine happiness, and with a budget friendly price at that!

How does your poor soul clasp unto thee? Is it hopeful? or is it brave?
The flutters of falling on air were applauses and screeches of people from the sky; they collar unto something even they couldn’t fathom. As they crashed down, they shatter the scales of Earth, toppling its equilibrium--still the sound remains, songs of love and epiphany, to carry the world to a
meek halt. They stop. Moments on it linger. The wraiths of their worship pass their paled bodies, consuming their left faith. Contained in horror, some abandon zeal but still, many kept bay. Left pleading, those who breathe are remnants of a past, that latched towards the end--they collar unto something even they couldn’t fathom. words by Sergs Samson
