A la Maison de Verre The United Nations Regional Information Centre (UNRIC) is pleased to invite you to the third edition of CINÉ-ONU on Thursday June 28th from 16.00 to 18.30 at Residence Palace. In part one, CINÉ-ONU will screen "A la Maison de Verre", a film about the UN’s work in the field of human rights with a particular focus on the rights of women and indigenous people. It is the story of the UN told for the first time by its Secretaries-General. We will screen the episodes featuring Boutros Boutros-Ghali, a key actor of the eighties and promoter of a more democratic approach to globalization and Kofi Annan, head of the UN for ten years and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. The documentary will be followed by a question and answer session with the director of the film Romuald Sciora, who has done so much work in support of the UN, and UNRIC Director Afsané Bassir Pour In part two, we will screen "Year in review 2006" offering an overview of the accomplishments as well as the challenges facing the United Nation’s political and peace-building missions as of 31 December 2006. You will also have an opportunity to visit UNRIC’s library with information material about the United Nations. UN staff will be available to answer your questions and to talk about their work and experience as representatives of the organization. The event will take place at:
