One man’s lifetime collection of hundreds of pieces of silver has been entered into the Charterhouse specialist auction of silver, jewellery and watches in Sherborne on May 5. Richard Bromell of Charterhouse said: “It’s a fabulous collection of silver amassed over many years. “He generally scratched his silver collecting itch by buying pieces from auctions up and down the country with many lots coming from Charterhouse.” The owner, who passed away recently, spent his life working as a policeman.
