Many staff members have international industry experience and consult widely in both the Australian and international aviation industry.
Sydney is an ideal international city to immerse yourself in the aviation world.
Sydney is a major global aviation hub; home to the world’s third largest base for the Airbus A380 super jumbo and an early destination city servicing the state-of-theart Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Sydney is well serviced by a growing number of mainland Chinese airlines – Air China, China Eastern, China Southern, Hainan Airlines and Sichuan Airlines provide frequent direct connections to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Nanjing, Shenzhen and Chongqing. Australia is home to much of the growth in China’s aviation industry and Australia has emerged as a key pillar underwriting the international strategies of leading Chinese airlines with China Southern increasing capacity by 40% on the Sydney to Guangzhou route in 2013.
More than half a million seats were added by Chinese airlines flying to Australia between 2005 and 2013.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS If I complete my Chinese undergraduate degree next year, when should I apply for postgraduate studies? For postgraduate applications, our updated policy for China-based applications now allows you to apply immediately after you complete the 6th semester of your undergraduate program in China. If you successfully meet the entry requirements of your postgraduate application, you may receive an offer to study at UNSW. For more information, visit: www.international.unsw.edu. au/updated-policy-china-based-applicants-applyingpostgraduate-coursework-programs/

HOW TO APPLY
If I didn’t meet the Gaokao cut-off for my undergraduate degree application, is there an alternative pathway? UNSW Global offers a four-month Transition Program which is an accelerated pre-university program designed to assist students who have completed a matriculation qualification where their results were marginally below the Gaokao requirement for direct entry to university. For more information, visit: www.ufs.unsw.edu.au/ academic-programs/program/transition
What are the English Language requirements I need to meet? UNSW recognises results from a number of English Language tests and English Preparation Courses. For more information, please visit: www.unsw.edu.au/english-requirements-policy
Research applications Higher Degree Research applications can be submitted outside of these dates, however so as to ensure students are enrolled by census date (31 March 2014 for Semester 1 and 31 August 2014 for Semester 2), it is highly recommended that students apply online up to 8 weeks prior to census.
GAOKAO REQUIREMENT FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION
If I successfully meet the minimum entry score required for a UNSW program (degree), but do not meet the Gaokao score, can I still apply? Yes. As an example, if your score is 508 and the total score for the University Entrance Exam in Shanghai is 600, you should convert your score (508) to a percentage: 84.67% (508/600 x 100%). If you want to study Engineering and the minimum required score is 80%, you will be eligible to apply because your Gaokao converted score is 84.67%. * The total score for the University Entrance Exam is based on the figure released in 2014 only; it will be adjusted and reviewed each year by the Chinese Government.
GAOKAO REQUIREMENT
Note: For students that apply based on the total score mentioned above, you’ll also need to fulfil the minimum English language requirements. You’ll need to provide IELTS, TOEFL, or equivalent results.
