II. Organizational Context The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme is the UN organization that contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide.
III. Functions / Key Results Expected Summary of Key Functions: The National Intern will work under the overall supervision of the UNV Programme Officer (PO) in Cambodia and direct supervision of the UNV Project Coordinator/Researcher. S/he will assist with the research study focusing on volunteerism and youth employment in Cambodia; including data analysis, results presentation and publication, general communications with stakeholders in Cambodia, and some key administrative tasks. 1. Research Study: • Assist in conducting in-depth interviews and focus group discussions (FGDs); • Transcribe interviews and FGDs in Khmer; • Provide assistance in data analysis, trainings and interviews; • Research information about relevant topics and contribute to the finalization of the study; • Translate project documents from English to Khmer and vice versa when applicable. 2. Result Presentation and Communications • Assist in designing results presentation (infographic, mapping, etc.); • Provide assistance in organizing Stakeholder Workshops; • Assist in making the results visible among different media including social media; • Monitor online-questionnaire. 3. Administrative Support: • Provide logistics support (set up venue and prepare coffee breaks etc.) in meetings and trainings; • Take minutes during workshops, meetings and trainings; • Attend meetings with the project coordinator, interpret the discussion from Khmer to English and vice versa if needed; • Assist in coordinating the project publications process; • Perform other tasks required by the exigencies of the project. IV. Recruitment Qualifications
Education:
•
Undergoing Bachelor’s studies in Social Sciences, International Relations, Communications, Management, or any other relevant field of study.
Experience:
•
Possesses some research knowledge, passionate about data analysis, and is willing to be part of the research team;
•
Has strong volunteer spirit and willingness to promote Volunteerism. A team-worker, and a solution and detail oriented person, with previous volunteer experience;
•
Good of ICT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access Database;
•
Knowledge of multimedia, Graphic design, photography and web development would be a strong asset.
•
Fluency in Khmer and English (spoken and written).
