By rail Cheltenham Spa is served by direct rail services from London, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff and Plymouth. Francis Close Hall is approximately 25 minutes’ walk from the train station.

By car Cheltenham is easily accessible by road, located close to Junction 11 on the M5. For more detailed information please visit www.glos.ac.uk/travel

Parking There is limited parking on campus, therefore we recommend that you use the free university open day bus which runs regularly from Cheltenham Racecourse Park and Ride (postcode GL50 4SH), timetable enclosed. The entrance to the Park and Ride is on New Barn Lane, opposite UCAS. The nearest pay and display car park to Francis Close Hall is the NCP on St Margaret’s Road, Cheltenham (GL50 4EJ).

Head straight to Registration in our Open Day Hub in the marquee where you will find our academic, finance, accommodation and student support teams.

Our refectory will be open from 9.00am for light refreshments and lunch. We also have a café at Hardwick. Please note that the refectory serves hot meals until 2pm.

Find out how to create the perfect art portfolio, consider what you’d do in a range of social work scenarios, or learn how to ace your interview when applying to university for a place on a teacher training course. You can discuss the news and its relationship to our history degree, or look at how to perfect your personal statement when applying for our religion, philosophy and ethics course. Explore contemporary literature and the way it shapes society with our English lecturers, or get a real sense of how our creative writing courses teach you drama, prose and poetry in a specialist workshop. There’s also the opportunity to see how our biology and geography students use our facilities and take part in international field trips to help their studies, discuss the latest sociological issues and what you can do to make a difference, or participate in an interactive exercise to explore the concept of criminology. You can also pop into our virtual reality labs and see how we’re using the latest technologies to support our psychology research and training.
