The Rowans Hospice (T18) The Hospice provides a range of opportunities for volunteers, for example clerical, gardening, serving meals and refreshments to patients and visitors, working on reception or answering phones, driving, fundraising, or working in our shops. We operate a bank system for all new volunteers, who we then use to cover gaps in our regular volunteer rotas. Therefore, we would not be able to offer any regular shifts, but opportunities for shifts would be on an ad hoc basis as and when gaps appear. Some areas are very popular - for example the ward and day care - so that would reduce the opportunities to work there. We do expect volunteers to be committed to supporting the Hospice and are therefore looking for longer term volunteers. Discuss specific volunteering opportunities with the Rowans Hospice team here today.
