Celebrating 40 Years!

This year, Fort Bend Music Center celebrates 40 years! Marketing Manager Lindsey Thielsen says, “My mom and dad, Terry and Rick Cochran, started out as a piano moving company back in 1983. Over the course of the years, we have transformed into one of the largest Yamaha piano dealers in the nation. Our full-line music store includes a band department and on-site service shop, and a lessons studio offering music lessons of all types.”

This local establishment is proud to remain family-owned and operated…where all three Cochran women play vital roles in the company’s success. Terry is the company Vice President, and she also runs the piano service department. Lindsey’s the Marketing Manager, and Lindsey’s twin sister Ashley serves as CFO, taking care of all the financials.

Want to dip your toe in the music waters? Summer camps are a great way to get a taste of what Fort Bend Music Center has to offer. These camps are perfect for all levels of musicians, including beginners. Kids (or adults!) ages 4+ receive the full, immersive musical experience over five days. Each day offers fun, dynamic lessons in piano, strings, brass, and guitar. There are no supplies necessary, Fort Bend Music supplies everything you need.

“Our summer camps have been suspended since the pandemic,” says Lindsey. “We are so excited to bring them back. Even if you or your child has never touched an instrument, I promise, you’ll have fun and learn something in the process!”
