KHOMBISILE SIYAYA

My name is Khombisile Siyaya and I live in Johannesburg, I do acting and modelling.

Monate: Who have you worked with? Khombi: I have worked with Smokehouse casting agency and I have featured on Muvhango as nurse with the Sbu agency and since then I have been working as an extra in many soapies, for example, Generations: The Legacy and Skeem Saam.

Monate: Between acting and modelling, which one do you like the most and why? Khombi: It is very difficult to choose between the two, but I go with acting.

Monate: Who is your role model and why? Khombi: Leleti Khumalo, because she has got raw talent and she came from performing in theatres, she is the best.

Monate: What do you do during your spare time? Khombi: I go out for a jog and I also like dancing.

Monate: What is it that people do not know about you, that you would like for them to know? Khombi: I appear to look like somebody who is forward, but really, I am very shy.

Monate: What advice would you give a young lady who is interested in doing acting and/or modelling? Khombi: The entertainment industry is very cruel, be very careful and you must know what you want. You can fall, just like that, so have something to back it up with, do not stick to it alone.

Monate: What would you like to achieve for this year? Khombi: Just to get a permanent gig, because being an extra is stressful and straining, for example, the wardrobe, transport costs, the agencies do not pay on time, and I often have to wait three to four months to receive my payment.
