I
t is August 2019, women’s month that why we choose to write about this, it is shocking how everyone knows their rights and yet women are still getting raped. Ladies you need to do your own safety measures, one lady who thought she was safe got raped in our presence. I won’t mention any names the ladies didn’t give me the right to write about them but I will use their stories as example of how easily you can also get raped. The stories I am writing about is of one female upcoming artist how was raped the year and one upcoming female model who did not disclose when the rape occurred.
The female artist rape I was invited to an event, when I got there I met the female artist, she was with a man and they were introduced to me as a couple, the event never took place but we were taken elsewhere to have fun that to make up for the fact that the event was not a success or could not take place, long story short we walked to the female artist’s man’s shack we were 5 guys and one girl, when we got there I set on the couch the guys were given blankets to sleep on the floor, in the bed was the couple and another male artist, the couple was talking the Female artist busy tell the guy that tomorrow they going to her place, light were of next thing I know the guy gets up to take something out of the draw I didn’t see what it was but I could hear it was a condom, he opened it, put it, I could see but I could hear all this, the male artist who was in bed with them heard it too and jumped off the bed, I was waiting to hear the girl say aaah to be 100% sure that they were having sex in front of us, I waited after one minute I heard the guy snoring. At 6am we left the couple there made our way to our homes later on in the Gc on whatsapp the male artist chatted about how dirty the female artist is getting f***ked in front of us like that news spread around until the next day when the female artist whatsapp me saying we drugged her and raped her and she is going to the police to report us, I told her what happened, she said the guy is not her boyfriend she doesn’t know his they only met that day, she woke up in his bed all dressed, went home, she didn’t suspect anything but she was trying to make sense of how come she doesn’t remember anything and she didn’t have that much to drink, she said it is impossible for one guy to rape her in front of us and we just leave her, she said we took turns with her and she is going to the police station, I was innocent so I told her to go, this was now the third day after the rape she went to the police station they sent her to the hospital for testing, they couldn’t find traces of drugs they told her they could be out of her system by then they didn’t find traces of semen or any signs forceful penetration in her vagina, she already baths more than # times. There was no evidence for this case police told her the can open it but she won’t win it. The Female Model Just like any other upcoming model she was taking pictures putting herself out there, she was contacting agencies, one responded and invited her to his home, when she got there the agent started taking pics of her in one of the rooms which looked like a photo studio, he told her to strip down to her underwear, she was uncomfortable but this was a agent an she wanted this so she took off her clothes and was only in her underwear, the agent said the should shoot in the next room, they went there and it was the guys bedroom, he told her to take off everything and lay on the bed she did that, he took of his clothes, she asked what’s going on now he told her it is what all the other models do to get jobs, she tried putting her clothes on but it was too late she asked him not to but he forced himself on her, he raped her. After that she was scared but after a day got the courage to go report at the police station the police asked her a few questions like how did she get to his place, she told them that she went there, the police said she has no case therefore they didn’t open one. I am a guy and if I am going somewhere I make sure I go with my friend, if you know Monate I am sure you have seen everywhere I go I go with one guy why because he supports me. I get surprised when I invite a Upcoming model and she shows up alone. Artist, dance, model, etc you must have someone you go with to places, that one ride or die, it can be your family member, it can be your friend or your man but never go anywhere alone, when you get to a place you can always lie and say he/she is my manager or bodyguard or PA, yes you may have to transport that person even pay entrance fee for them but your safety is worth more than that. I also render my services for free, you can take me along but you have to transport me and feed me, I am still learning how to be a Manager so use that to your advantage, once I have learned I will be very expensive. Model Focus: Mathapelo Waga Senyolo
Mathapelo Audrey Senyolo is a young active extra ordinary model who is 23 years old of age who stays at Alexandra township in Johannesburg in short you can define her as a hard worker who is willing to go an extra mile in the modeling field she think out of the box and she is a go getter, she is persistence and perseverance when coming to her career and she does everything she does because she wants to be a top model, she is passionate and she also want to be a very good example to her fellow sisters and brothers who also wish to pursue modelling as their career. Interview with male model: Thabang
Who is Thabang? Thabang is young vibrant motivated go getter who takes pride in life, he motivates and encourage other people through his ethical, a goal driven individual who is highly motivated with a humble personality, He is flexible and believe in team work. He is currently working on fashion shows and acts. Last year you were up and down doing modelling, this year I don't hear you talking about modelling, why? The reason is because I don't get paying gig's I'm tired of working for people because all they want is money they don't do it for passion and on top of that they don't pay the models they eat money, so if you don't have a good agency you will suffer just like me.
How is the modelling industry for male models? It is tough when you are a freelancer because people will use you just to make money and they don't pay you at the end, they don't even pay for your transport. Have you tried looking for a good agency and what happened? I tried looking for good agency, but they wanted me to pay a joining fee and I can't buy my talent. Do men get as much support as women? No they don't because most man they don't follow modelling, it is only women who have passion for modelling. If you could change anything in the modelling industry, what would it be and why What advice would you give a young man who what's to be a model? I would change this thing of paying when you joining agency or doing pageant because everything is about money in this industry some people have passion for modelling but they can't afford to pay. We have a month competition called Viewer's choice when it started it was for both men and women the woman that won, won with almost 400votes and the guy that won, won with 5votes. Do you think man have the same passion for modelling as women? No, women love modelling more than men so it easy for them to get votes

What is a model? To me a model is someone who is able to promote a brand, someone who knows how to talk to clients. Someone who knows how to pose for Camera,who can walk like like a boss,talk like a boss and act like it. We sharing one of your poems in this issue, you are a poet, a model, what other talents do you have? I am also an actress,a presenter and if advising people is a talent then that's my talent too. Are you under any agency? If yes what have you done under them? No,I am under an Academy. Named DXM, they train models. I have done my modeling Trainings,they taught me how to talk to clients and how to handle Scams. They have also taught me that modeling is not just about posing for Camera but also about how you talk to clients, I have been chosen by a Designer to promote his designs. A lot of dramas and movies are shot in Gauteng and KwaZulu Natal, do you know of any shot in Cape town? No I don't know. Do you think there are enough opportunities in Cape town? No,because most of the Agencies that I have contacted they are all based in Johannesburg. And most Auditions take place at Johannesburg, Cape Town do have Opportunities but they are not enough. August is women's month what would you like to say to women? Never settle for less,know your worth. You are all Special,so never let people control you,underestimate you nor Treat you like you are nothing. And please do not stay in an abusive relationship, do not be afraid to shout for help.Go out there and shine, you are all beautiful with or without scars. Our August Viewer’s Choice I am Portia Uzile Makhubela from Mpumalanga, Nelspruit , Nkomazi from a small village called Langeloop.I am 23 years old currently pursuing my Diploma in Tourism Management at Tshwane University Of Technology. I am coming from a disadvantaged family but I am working on changing the situation at home. Reading autobiographies of famous models and celebrities is my hobby. I live by the principles of honesty and simplicity. I am an aspiring, goal driven and a hard working model. I am training little girls from the age of 6-16 years old back at home. My intentions of doing this are to build their confidence, groom them to be awesome models when they grow up as well as helping them differentiate between Modelling And Pageantry. I am interested in Commercial Modelling; I think it’s what I am born to be. I should admit that it wasn’t easy for me to accept when Mr Phathizwe Sono told me that I am a Model not a Beautiful Queen and I should focus more into who I am not what I wanted. From our conversation, I took his advice and started I involving myself with photography as some of the people I associated myself with were photographers so I got used to behaving naturally in front of a camera. I noticed that isn’t about “looks” but about how the camera perceives you. I focused on my look, which helped me defined exactly what type of modelling I enjoyed most and worked hard at honing my skills at my genre of craft. Yes There will always be prettier, taller or better women than myself but I understand were my strengths and weakest are and I focused on always working, self-promoting, learning and developing myself so I would excel at something I enjoyed to do and in a position where I could make a very good living and build myself to explore all the other areas of the industry that I would love to further myself later in life and hope there’s a lot to learn. I don’t have any modelling agency but I have Mr Phathizwe “Born Great Founder” Who is a good help in my Modelling Career and yes I am looking for a Modelling Agency because it is not easy for a model to survive in the industry without a Modelling Agency. With the little experience that I have I’d love to advice people who want to be models but scared to come out from their comfort zone that : Just because the Industry is challenging doesn't mean you should ignore your natural talents and shy away from fear, forget about the challenges, about how the world perceives you and do what you love most because your happiness is all that matters. Believe me when I say everything is possible if you believe in yourself and in God. It is said “Through hard working and consistency, everything is possible. No matter how long it takes but eventually you will get where you want to be.
