—over 34,000 living in Charlottetown. • We are the smallest of Canada’s 10 provinces. • Charlottetown is the Birthplace of Confederation. • The Mi’kmaq were PEI’s original inhabitants—they called it Abegweit— meaning “cradled on the waves.” • PEI is 280 kilometres long, tip to tip. • PEI has over 800 kilometres of beaches. • The Confederation Trail is 273 kilometres long and stretches from one end of the Island to the other. It’s open to hikers, cyclists, runners, crosscountry skiers, and even snowmobilers, depending on the season! • The world-famous book, Anne of Green Gables, published in 1908, was written by PEI native Lucy Maud Montgomery.

The goal of nursing is to promote wellness and health care for individuals, families, groups, and communities. The School of Nursing at the University of Prince Edward Island offers students an interactive academic environment that helps them become critically reflective practitioners, advocates, educators, and professional leaders. Our 4-year undergraduate program, along with our 2-year accelerated program for students with a previous degree, prepares graduates to write licensure examinations to practice nursing and to hold membership in the Association of Registered Nurses of Prince Edward Island. The Master of Nursing program offers a Thesis and a Nurse Practitioner stream. NCLEX-RN PREPARATION
The National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses, or NCLEX-RN, is the standard exam you need to write to establish your initial RN registration. UPEI incorporates the NCLEX-RN format into its curriculum so students are fully prepared to take the final exam.

Our Celebrating Student Achievement Program guarantees that students entering UPEI directly from high school will automatically receive a scholarship if their overall average of program admission courses is 80% or higher.

HOW TO APPLY Canadian Students Step 1
CREATE A UPEI ACCOUNT ONLINE
Go to upei.ca/apply • Select “Create a UPEI account” • Fill in form • Click submit
Step 2
START AN APPLICATION
• While logged into your UPEI account, select “Apply Online” from the menu • Start your application by filling out the form, and selecting “Save & Continue” at the end of each section • You can save information, leave, and then return to your application at any time by logging back into your account at apply.upei.ca
Step 3
COMPLETE AN APPLICATION
• Log into your account at apply.upei.ca • Complete filling out the online form, including the Certification Page • Select “Submit Application” and pay processing fee.* • You have now applied to UPEI! * A major credit card is needed to pay the processing fee.
Step 4
SUBMIT SUPPLEMENTAL ITEMS
After submitting your application, return to your UPEI account at apply.upei.ca to review what supplemental items are required.
