OBJETIVOS

El estudiante se familiarizará con las fuentes de

investigación jurídica de acceso gratuito y de bajo costo que se escuentran disponibles en el web.

Estimular la reflexión sobre la importancia de

aprender a utilizar eficientemente las fuentes de investigación jurídica en sus diferentes formatos.

IMPORTANCIA DE CONOCER ESTAS FUENTES Gran parte de la información jurídica es de uso público:

legislación, jurisprudencia, reglamentos, entre otros.

Alto costo de la información jurídica electrónica en

servicios comerciales.

Porque existe la posibilidad de que usted vaya a trabajar

a algún lugar NO suscrito a servicios comerciales.

No todos los bufetes, agencias de gobierno o empresas

privadas pueden pagar el costo los servicios comerciales.

En los bufetes, el costo de la investigación se le factura al

cliente, y ya éstos están comenzando a protestar…

LAWSUIT CLAIMS CHADBOURNE OVERCHARGED FOR COMPUTERIZED LEGAL RESEARCH “A California plaintiffs attorney has filed a lawsuit against a New York-based law firm on behalf of a former client of the firm for what she claims if a hidden but widespread practice within the legal profession: law firms secretly profiting off legal research fees by overcharging clients.

Consumer protection attorney Patricia Meyer filed a suit against New York’s Chadbourne & Parke on March 2 for allegedly overcharging J. Virgil Waggoner, a Texas businessman, by several thousands of dollars for computerized legal research.

His bill was roughly $20,000 for the research, she said, but it should have been closer to $5,000”.
