Note’ When conceiving the idea of Studymax, we envisaged a means of communication between students and education institutes made direct, and that’s where Studymax – the magazine came into fruition. Society these days though one needs to stay connected on all levels, what with real time telecommunication and the vast amount of information available to us at just a click of a button, so Studymax, we figured needed to fulfill all these criteria. The way to do this, after delving into the issue and what was at that time, available, was through a multitude of different forums. What better way than to take this seedling of direct communication and expand it? Why stop at a magazine when we could become a one stop centre? A depot of choices when it comes to which school one wants to attend? To see this vision through,the CEO of “Studymax” and “Livmax Global”, Mr.Kambiz Mobaraki and myself as the CEO of Studymax’s Media Producer, “UPRO Design” functioning as the Executive Manager of Studymax, decided to pool the respective strengths of our organizations. With the shared purpose of ensuring Studymax’s robust growth, we knew that the creativity afforded by UPRO Design and the solid foundation of Livmax Global would confirm Studymax’s exponential growth. As firm believers in the power of technology, our team find ourselves constantly fascinated by the ever changing socio-economic landscape such facilities as the internet and telecommunications has afforded us as a species. There is a pace we must be in tune with so as to keep our competitive edge, thus we believe that in this constantly shrinking world where time zones are of no big consequence any longer, pupils and scholars everywhere must find the balance between technological know-how and cultural savoir-faire. “IT is a field that deals with the creation of solutions,” explains Prof. Ong. “The footprint of IT applications is simply enormous. Every sector uses it. In manufacturing, for example, IT combined with the proper equipment allows for automation, better workflow, as well as improved quality control.” The application of IT doesn’t stop there. For every new business or firms, computers and the ability to access the Internet are absolute necessities. Not only does the Internet allow firms to coordinate their work better, but structures like websites and applications for mobile devices allow businesses to take advantage of new opportunities and reach more customers. “These hard and soft infrastructures need to be maintained,” Prof. Ong elaborates. “As your business grows, your hardware and software need to be improved. As you become more profitable, the higher your risk of being targeted by cyber criminals. This requires computer security technologies. All these solutions and infrastructure require IT knowledge to maintain and improve”. MMU’s approach of preparing its students for the real job market perhaps explains why MMU’s tracer studies have consistently revealed that more than 90 percent of its graduates secure employment within six months of completing their studies. In recognition of MMU’s efforts, the Malaysian Qualifications Agency, in its 2009 Rating System for Institutions of Higher Learning (SETARA) placed MMU in the Excellent (Tier-5) rank. This firmly cements MMU’s position among the top universities in Malaysia.

BAC is one of the Affiliate Centres for the University of London International Programmes (Law degree Programme) and holds the distinction of being the only institution in the country that is accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) to offer both the University of London (3 + 0) Law Programme (UOL) and the UK Transfer Degree (UKT) programme in Law. The two programmes are recognised both by the Legal Profession Qualifying Board of Malaysia and the Law Society in UK.
In 2011, the first outstanding performance of the year began with BAC student Kimberly Ong from the University of London International Programmes who clinched the "Best Student in Malaysia" title for the June 2011 University of London Intermediate Examinations and was awarded the King’s College Scholarship to complete her final 2 years in the UK. BAC students have won this award 3 times in the last 4 years. The college's track record for excellence continued in their LLB Degree Programme with 4 First Class and 60 Second Class Upper graduates. BAC student, Michelle Sunita Danny Kummar secured a First Class Honours from Cardiff University and obtained 4 A's in her final year. Another outstanding performer from Cardiff University was Tan Meng Yee who at only 19 years of age was awarded an LLB First Class Honours. Notable mention also goes to Kho Chin Chau who was awarded First Class Honours from the University of Hertfordshire. Rounding off the list of top honours of the year is

Other outstanding achievements by BAC students this year include Gurpreet Pannu a student of the Northumbria Open Learning programme who was awarded the North of England Medico-Legal Society Prize for Best Medical Law Student in 2011 and Teoh Zhan Zhi who was awarded the Calcott Pryce Subject Prize for Intellectual Property at Aberystwyth University.

CertiďŹ cate in Legal Practice (CLP) For those intending to practice law, the next step is to complete the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP). BAC has an 80% pass rate for the last 6 years and also secured more awards in the CLP examination than all other colleges in Malaysia put together. In the CLP examinations from 2005 to 2010, BAC secured 70 book prizes and Second Uppers. In 2009, Chong Zhuo Chen became the recipient of the Tun Hamid Omar Foundation Award for the Best Overall CLP student in the country. Chong is the only student to score 4As in the history of the CLP examinations. In 2010 Low Huei Sze received the Tun Hamid Omar Foundation Award for the Best Overall CLP student in the country. Another remarkable achievement in the same year was by Chai Shwu Yi who was the only student to win two Book Prizes. This year BAC students once again produced excellent performances with Kung Shin Tyan and Tay Zi Li securing 2 out of only 3 Second Uppers awarded in the 2011 CLP examinations.
The Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators
(ICSA) and Diploma in Arbitration Besides law degree programmes, BAC also offers an array of professional courses to enhance the career prospects of it's law graduates. Among these, the ICSA is a popular qualification to have alongside a law degree. In fact, law graduates are exempted from 10 subjects, leaving only 4 exams and 2 assignments to be completed in order to obtain the ICSA qualification. Additionally, the Diploma in International Arbitration is also offered, in collaboration with the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators. It can be completed within 3 months and will undoubtedly improve employability.
