STUMPHOUSE PARK Stumphouse Park is a pristine 440-acre property that includes Stumphouse Tunnel, Issaqueena Falls, Blue Ridge Railroad hiking trail, the Stumphouse Passage of the Palmetto Trail and the Stumphouse Mountain Bike Park. Stumphouse Tunnel was intended to connect the railroad from Charleston to Knoxville. Digging started in 1856, but due to excessive costs, work was halted in 1859. It is approximately a quarter of a mile long and maintains a constantly cool temperature of 50 degrees year-round which makes for an easy family friendly hike. Be sure to bring a flashlight!
