This week’s news Action Required World Book Day Don’t forget that World book day is Thursday 6th March. Children can come to school dressed as a character from any book they choose.
Art Project Mrs Glover is currently planning a religious education art project and would be grateful for any donations of old magazines or holiday brochures that are appropriate for the children to use.
For Information School Football Team News Our team have a very busy fixture list coming up in March as they make up for the games that were rained off earlier in the year; 7th March - Away to Tarporley Primary in the Quarter finals of the cup 10th March - Home playing Belgrave Primary in the league 14th March - Home to Huntington Primary in the league 28th March - Home to Oldfield Primary in the league
They’re playing really well, come and cheer them on if you can make it. Supervising Children on the School Grounds Please be careful allowing your children to run through the bushes that line the driveway. The grounds maintenance staff regularly tend the area but it’s not meant to be a play area and there may be stumps sticking up that the children could fall over or land upon. Can we also remind everyone that bicycles and scooters are not to be ridden on the school grounds including the main driveway. However pedestrians should look before stepping out as we’ve had a few near misses lately. To air on the side of caution we think it best that all cyclists dismount at the gates. Thank you Mr Rodgers & Mr Oakes
Nearly new Toy, Book and Children’s Items sale We are going to be holding another nearly new toy, book and children's items table top sale at school, on Thursday March 27th, between 2 and 5.30. We will run the sale slightly different this time whereby sellers pay £10 for a table, and keep all of the proceeds themselves. We envisage demand for tables to be quite high, so if you're interested in a table, please contact either Diane Yeoman or Jane Hickson on diane@yeomanfamily.plus.com , or Jane.miitime@gmail.com . Also make a note of the date, as I'm sure they'll be lots of bargains to be had. This is all extra funds for the PTA, and an excellent way to de clutter! So register your interest in a table, and get sorting! Diane Yeoman and Jane Hickson
Book Fair The Book Fair will be back in school from 10th to the 14th March. More details to follow next week. If you’re able to help the PTA to cover the stalls on any of the evenings please contact Sarah Taggart on 07867 532953 or tomlinsotaggart@sky.com

Hoops for Health Basketball Competition Upton Heath were the well deserved winners in the basketball competition held on Sunday 16th February at the Northgate Arena. They played their qualifying matches before the Cheshire Phoenix match and then the final at half time in front of a big crowd. The crowd did not affect their nerves, in fact our players stepped up their game and played a fantastic final match, winning 3-1 against Saughall. They proved themselves to be a great team, communicating well and supporting each other.
Sports Hall Athletics Our Upton Heath Athletics team performed brilliantly to come third in the Chester Sports Hall Athletics Competition on Thursday 27th February. As always the children were a pleasure to take and every one of them gave 100% in terms of determination, effort and sportsmanship. Ten boys and ten girls competed in track and field events including relays, hurdles, jumping and throwing events. A big well done to all. Miss Hodge
