TOO WIDE A lower sofa with wider arms may fit your style, but it will cramp it in a small space.

TOO DARK When it comes to upholstery, going to the dark side can be a real threat to your free space.
TOO HEAVY If overused, heavy wood tables can obstruct your view and put you in a tight spot.
SO GOOD LOOKING A little mirror reflection creates the illusion that there’s a whole lot more to your space, no matter how you look at it. SO AIRY Sofas with narrow arms, light fabrics and tall legs are great for accomplishing a light and airy feel.
SO FLOORED Even a bigger rug can tie a small room together. Just tuck it under the sofa to create some extra floor space for the rest of your style.
SO OPEN When open-frame tables are part of the picture, it’s easy to see that your small space is kind of a big deal.
SO HANDY Ottomans can be a footrest, a coffee table or a storage piece, making them great space savers.

A small space shouldn’t make you lose your appetite for stylish dining options. Round tables, glass tops and smaller side tables are an oh-so-fitting way to taste success in your dining area – without feeling like there are too many cooks in the kitchen.
SPLIT THE ROOM A rug can break up your dining and living area into two equally fabulous sections, but only one can come out on top.
Whether you’re having dinner for two or working solo, one multiple-use table is all you need to do it all and save space, too. A quaint bistro-style setup is an all-in-one wonder that stands out and stands clear in a smaller room.

Side tables with extra drawers can really clear up and style up your room, while furniture and bedding with lighter, neutral colours create an airy setting for sprawling out. Here are some tips for making more legroom, elbowroom and headroom in your bedroom.

Picking furniture isn’t all about looks and how it will fit in a room. You also have to think about if it can make the journey along the stairway, through the hallway and under the doorway. So before you buy, answer these crucial questions and remember to measure twice to make sure the move goes real nice.
Make sure your piece will fit in its final destination by using the width and height measurements to outline the desired floor space with masking tape. Or take the easy way out and save tape by using the Make Room app.
Make sure to measure all entryways and clearances beyond doorways. If your depth, width and height measurements are less than the width of these entrances, and your diagonal measurement is less than the height and clearances, you’re good to go.
