As we dive into the heart of summer, I am delighted to bring you our Black Family Month issue, celebrating the richness and resilience of America’s Black Families This special edition is filled with exciting features and events that will make this summer unforgettable We kick off July with a strong focus on mental wellness, as it is African American Mental Wellness Month We recognize the importance of mental health and encourage open conversations to break down the stigma surrounding it. Let us prioritize self-care and support one another on our journey to emotional well-being.

In keeping with our theme, we proudly present our Black Family Month spotlight, celebrating the foundation of our community - the Black family. This issue showcases inspiring stories of strong Black fathers, dynamic grandmothers like myself, and the indomitable spirit that binds our families together. We recognize the power of family as the bedrock of our strength and unity.

Speaking of family, I am excited to share my joy of spending time with my eight beautiful grandchildren Being active and hanging out with them brings me immeasurable joy Our Functional Fitness article emphasizes the importance of staying fit and healthy for our grandchildren Let us embrace wellness as we continue to build lasting memories with our loved ones
