As the COVID-19 vaccine becomes more available across the world, the return to normal life for all of us becomes closer each day.

While it’s exciting to see how much progress has been made in 2021, we each must continue to take action in fighting COVID-19 in our everyday lives.

COVID-19 is still a very serious disease that many people around the world suffer from, and by becoming more lenient on our safety measures we only risk it becoming as rampant as it once was.

Only by remaining steadfast in ensuring the safety of ourselves and one another can we get our lives back on track.

Here are the steps we can all take to continue fighting COVID-19: 1. If You’re Able To, Get Vaccinated. •

Getting vaccinated is the easiest and best way to keep yourself and others safe and healthy.

Not only does getting vaccinated help stop the spread of COVID-19, but it also frees up the resources of our health services system to help others and protects those who are unable to get the vaccine.

A vaccination also allows you to travel freely to the rest of the United States and most of the world! Vaccinations are quick and often free, with only a few providers requiring a small administration fee.

COVID-19 Vaccine clinics in Pearl City, Kalopei, Kailua, Ko Olina, and Waikiki are administering more vaccines every day, and it’s never been easier for anyone to get one! If you’re able, get your vaccine today!

2.

If You’re Not Able to Get Vaccinated, Continue to Get Tested Regularly.

If you’re unable to get vaccinated due to preexisting conditions or lack of vaccines in your area, you should continue to get tested for COVID-19 regularly.

Making sure to get tested before and after attending social events or traveling is especially important, as it ensures that you and others are staying healthy.

COVID-19 tests are still readily available; Urgent Care Hawaii has COVID-19-testing in Kalopei, Kailua, Ko Olina, Pearl City, and Waikiki, and most pharmacies are also equipped for testing.

Testing is quick, and in most cases, you can have your results within 15 minutes, which means checking up on your health doesn’t have to take much time out of your day.

If you begin having symptoms of COVID-19, make sure to contact your doctor about appropriate steps to take, and get tested as soon as you’re able to safely.

3. •

Whether You’re Vaccinated or Not, Continue to Monitor Your Health. Even with a COVID-19 vaccination or negative test result, it’s important to stay diligent in monitoring your health every day.

While the chance of contracting COVID-19 is very low after being vaccinated, continue to monitor your health for any symptoms of COVID-19, and get tested if you are worried about being sick.

Non-vaccinated people should continue to practice social distancing, wearing masks, and restraining from large social gatherings, while regularly doing COVID-19 testing in Kalopei, Ko Olina, or another region.

Following local and federal guidelines as the pandemic progresses will also be crucial in helping return our lives to normal.

If we all work together, our normal lives are waiting just around the corner. Stay strong Hawaii!
