Cloud and Area I has directed that ambient temperatures be adjusted in all buildings as an energy-saving measure. The required temperature setting during the heating season is 68 degrees Fahrenheit, which is roughly 20 degrees Celsius; in the cooling season, the setting is 78F, 26C. Parenting Class An “A+ Parenting” class geared to expectant mothers and parents generally is scheduled for noon to 2 p.m. April 16 on Camp Casey at Army Community Service, bldg. 2451. The class will focus on choking, falls, spanking, “PURPLE” crying, and shaken baby syndrome. Take-home books and other materials will be given to all participants. No registration or reservations are needed. For more information, call 730-6609. Citizenship and Immigration Outreach A class covering immigration topics is scheduled for April 18 from 8:30 – 10:30 a.m. at Army Community Service, bldg. 2451, on Camp Casey. Topics to be covered include green cards, naturalization, re-entry permits, and assembling the I-130 Package. Registration is required. For more information, call 730-3107. Dongucheon Bus Tour A free tour of Dongducheon for military spouses is scheduled for April 19 from 9:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. The tour includes stops at a museum, a local community center and a market, and is also a chance to gain insight into Korean etiquette and culture. A bus departs the Camp Casey Community Activity Center, bldg. 2236, at 9:30 a.m. The tour is available on a first-come, first-served basis, and sign-up is required. Lunch will be provided. St. George Day Ball The 1st Battalion, 72nd Armor Regiment, will host a St. George Day Ball April 19 at 5 p.m. at the Wedding Palace in Uijeongbu. Cost is $50. Earth Day Poster Contest Winners of a 2013 Environmental Earth Day poster contest will be acknowledged during a ceremony April 22 in front of the Camp Casey Exchange from 11:30 a.m. – 12:20 p.m. The winning posters will be on public display from April 15 – 23 in a corridor of the Camp Casey Exchange. The display will feature 10 posters made by students of the Casey Elementary School and 10 by students from the off-post Bosan Elementary School in Dongducheon. For more information, call 732-8068. Driver Testing on Camp Red Cloud U.S. Forces Korea driver testing is now available Tuesdays and Wednesdays on Camp Red Cloud in building 57. New Parent Support Nurse A registered nurse for the U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I’s New Parent Support Program is working out of Camp Casey in Army Community Service, bldg. 2451. She is available to meet clients on their home posts, including Camps Red Cloud and Stanley. Her services are free. Suicide Prevention Hotline A 24-hour suicide prevention hotline is maintained by the U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I for anyone in Warrior Country considering suicide or trying to help someone who may be suicidal. Heat Shutoff Heat in Area I buildings will be shut off in the course of the month of April, a process that began April 8. Heat will first be turned off in work areas such as motor pools, offices and other facilities. Next will be public facilities in general use by the community, including Exchanges, commissaries, and recreational facilities. That will be followed by barracks.
