Changes To Bus Service HONORABLE MENTION Changes are being made to the Area I shuttle bus service and will start May 1. The shuttle bus that runs between Area I and Yongsan in Seoul, which has been a paid service, will be free. Also, some additional bus runs have been scheduled for service between Camp Casey and Camp Red Cloud, and also to service between Area I and Yongsan. For more information, call 732-6662. No School There will be no classes at Casey Elementary School April 26, a day of parent-teacher conferences. For more information, call 730-6444. Free Snacks Free snacks will be available April 26 from 5 – 6 p.m. for customer appreciation night at Mitchell’s Community Club and Conference Center on Camp Red Cloud. For more information, call 732-8189. Marathon at Camp Casey A full/half marathon at Camp Casey is scheduled for 7 a.m. April 27 at the Carey Fitness Center. Registration is at 6 a.m. The race will follow a 13.1 mile route with the full marathon participants running the route twice. The race is open to all military I.D. card holders. For more information, call 730-3220. Sports and Barbecue A sports field day and barbecue are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. April 27 at the football field at Camp Red Cloud. The event is open to U.S. and KATUSA Soldiers who are single or unaccompanied, and is sponsored by the Better Opportunities for Single (and unaccompanied) Soldiers program, or BOSS. Power Outage A partial power outage that will affect various buildings is scheduled for Camp Red Cloud April 27 from 7:50 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. For more information, call 732-6584/9079.

For more information, call 723-9251. Housing Office Closed The Housing Office at Camp Red Cloud and Camp Casey will be closed May 1 in observance of South Korea’s Labor Day holiday. Casey Library Reopening The Camp Casey Library has moved and will reopen May 3 in building 2403, across the street from Starbucks. It will mark the reopening at 3 p.m. with cake and balloons. For more information, call 730-3285. Cinco de Mayo Rally A Cinco de Mayo celebration and motorcycle rally is scheduled for May 4 from 2 – 8 p.m. at the Gateway Club on Camp Casey. The day’s events are to feature live band performances, including those by a mariachi band; a Hispanic music marathon; a cultural dance performance; an Area I yard sale; raffle of a Harley Davidson 2013 Iron 883 motorcycle; a motorcycle display, a bike safety demonstration, motorcycle gear vendors; free food-andwine tasting; food-eating contests; a break-a-plate game, paint ball shooting gallery, face painting and hat-making, inflatable games, a piñata-breaking game, carnival games and other activities. Driver Testing on Camp Red Cloud U.S. Forces Korea driver testing is now available Tuesdays and Wednesdays on Camp Red Cloud in building 57. NTV testing is at 8:45 a.m.; POV testing, 1:30 p.m. No testing is done on training holidays or U.S. and Korean holidays. For more information, call 730-2275 or send e-mail.

Area I Girl Scouts Seek Volunteers The Area I Girl Scouts are looking for adult volunteers.
Volunteers must be 18 or older. Those interested can visit the Camp Casey Girl Scouts Facebook page.The page has more information on volunteering and allows for sending the Scouts a message. Mandatory Temperature Adjustments Col. John M. Scott, Commander, U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I has directed that ambient temperatures be adjusted in all buildings as an energy-saving measure. The required temperature setting during the heating season is 68 degrees Fahrenheit, which is roughly 20 degrees Celsius; in the cooling season, the setting is 78F, 26C. These conservation measures will result in important energy savings within the Area I community. For more information, call 732-6940. WIC Service at Camp Red Cloud A Women, Infant and Children Overseas satellite office operates at Camp Red Cloud in bldg. 16. WIC provides free counseling and other help to expectant couples and those with children age five and younger. Services include monthly nutrition classes, food vouchers that can be used in any commissary in Korea, as well as items needed for breast-feeding. WIC also operates at Camp Casey in bldg. 2451. For information on WIC at either installation, or for business hours and other details on the Camp Red Cloud satellite, call 730-3436. Suicide Prevention Hotline A 24-hour suicide prevention hotline has been established by the U.S. Army Garrison Red Cloud and Area I for anyone in Warrior Country considering suicide or trying to help someone who may be suicidal. The hotline number is: 010-3762-0457.
