Arabic & Islamic Studies Dear Parents, We have learned a lot this month, we started with the letter "‫ "ذ‬and the kids made the letter using sand. They also made corn, from corn seeds and enjoyed this activity very much. We also learned the number "٨" and we learned it by counting cars. We learned the shape of the heart, and we coloured it in pink. On Valentine’s Day, we had a lot of fun especially when we went on the double-decker bus. We did some colouring and danced together, and it was one of the best times we had this month. Children also learnt the letter "‫"ر‬. By learning this letter, we threw feathers (reesh) up in the air, and we kept blowing them, it was fun. We learned about the traffic lights, and what we have to do when we see a specific colour. We also coloured the traffic lights using the right colours. However, the most important thing that made me happy this month is that everyone can understand me in Arabic, and I do not have to translate in English. Yara Shehab-Eldin

Jungle Bugs & Angel Room Dear parents: Miss Rania from jungle bugs and Angel classroom Our topic for the last month was (Transportation), we were focusing on recognizing the different types of transportation such as Car, Bus, Train, Air plane and Boat, as well as the safety on the road. Our children enjoyed all the activities that were related to our theme especially the Big Red Bus, the children had a good experience going on the bus starting down Stairs discovering the parts of the bus, listening to the music and dancing, then going up Stairs to the roof top and enjoy looking at a few books. Jungle bugs children also enjoyed the group activity by decorating some of the transportation such as airplane, train and boat and enjoyed our role-play by imitated driving a car and rowing a boat. Our children also enjoyed our sports day; and they were rewarded by a certificate for taking part on the sport day. Our children and their families enjoyed our messy day with different messy activities such as playing and messing with whip cream. For our Angels room, our babies discovered different types of transportation by playing with a big box pretending they are driving a car and pretending rowing a boat, they also enjoyed decorating some of transportations with finger print using the blue colour, as well as going on the red big bus. Octopus Class Dear Parents, The Children from the octopus classroom had a frantabulous month of February. As the theme of the month was “Transportation”, children enjoyed and loved the topic to the core. They explored a lot through their senses with different commuting vehicles, learnt different names of vehicles and modes of transport all throughout the month. Children also did many role-plays, made projects related to the theme and learnt new concepts. The children made use of the indoor gym and outdoor play to enhance their physical developments through the theme of transport. Sports day was an amazing event at nursery where all the children participated and performed marvelously each of them in their own way. Children also learnt about how to save water and electricity and not to play with them through a brief up given by the DEWA group. Valentine’s Day was another big bang event at school where the big bus arrived filling all the children with lots of happiness, joy, excitement and love. Lastly, I would like thank all the parents from the octopus class for their wonderful presence on the Messy day where everyone enjoyed being messy along with their children. I hope we all maintain this messier yet healthy bond with each other all throughout the year. Thanks a lot once again to all my special parents for your lovely participation. Next week’s theme of the month will be “Animals”. They learned all types of transportation like road, air, water and even the traffic rules. The children enjoyed doing activities according to the theme to give them an accurate concept of the topic and be able to identify the benefits it has in our daily life. In the 2nd week of the month the children experienced sitting on the red double Decker bus along with it we celebrated Valentine’s Day by making cards for mummy and daddy. Then came along the sports day on the 21 st of February where the children did sorting of the balls and hula hoop jumping race, on this day all of them were excited and full of energy and in the last week the children had a blast on the “Messy Day” which was on the 28th of February. Starfish Class Dear Parents, Please put your seatbelts on to go on the ride to discover with us our adventure in the “starfish” class. Yes! “Transport” theme finally landed in our classroom and here we go with what happened; it was a hilarious month loaded with lots of explorations, role-plays, art activities & more. Stop! The traffic light is red now; Read for details on how our month started, went on and ended. It is the caution light! The traffic light is orange now so get ready to feel what we experienced through this month. Go! The traffic light is green to discover what we passed by. At the beginning of the month, we covered the topic ‘travelling by road the children got the opportunity to go on the Double Decker Bus and the school bus. They kept on honking the horn and saying loudly Peep peep peep starfish class! They bought their bus tickets; they did some colouring and danced, and made a bus and car art activity. The children also looked forward to getting their bicycle and tricycle-driving license too. During the middle of the month, the children learned about travelling by air. Our classroom was arranged to look as if we are in the airplane on a flight going to different destinations of their choice. They bought their tickets and had their boarding pass. The hostess served children with food. Children acted as if they were having wings and flying through the air like birds and airplanes. They also tossed and flew forward their paper airplane aircrafts. Please get ready for landing; we ended the month by learning through play about water transport. We made the big boat and imitated the sound of different vehicles. We also did role-play where children were sitting in the bathtub and rowing the boat with paddles & singing along loudly “row row row your boat gently down the stream. We landed, thank you for choosing “starfish” class airlines and get ready to uncover what awaits you in the “Animals” theme. You landed in the right destination expect the unexpected for what will come next in “Starfish class”.

Dolphins Class What can be so perfect than a theme that is loaded with fun and games, of course the theme “Transportation”. From cars to loaders, sub-marine to rockets, the kids loved every bit of it. They made their own favorite kind of transports according to the weekly distribution of subtopics. They followed the traffic rules and the zebra crossing. Children were following the pedestrian track and they filled up their tanks with some patrol, on our road from the Kiddy Planet’s Gas Station in the outdoor area. So it was a real learning and exploration for the kids through role play and real fun. You can see how the kids are so anxious for their turn to make their own Zebra Crossing, indeed.

However, one of kids’ favorite activities was the letters fun! They chose their own favorite box of puzzle and started their early morning activity. It was amazing how they put them together. We sorted the puzzles out and we sat together on the floor and sequenced the puzzle. The early riser loved their own letter mat and they could not help to wait for their turn. They just kept puzzles in their hand so the moment one of their friends was done the other will just dive in. It was a great morning, filled with a fun punch, a great morning booster.
