NEWARK CONCRETE

Newark Concrete is a local business supplying local companies and people alike. At the heart of the business is their strong commitment to customer relationships and service, this as well as product innovation and dedication makes them stand out above the crowd.

Supplying all levels of users from the big builders such as Balfour Beatty, to local building firms to the end user building a base for the garden shed or garage.

Since humble beginnings over 25 years ago, the company has grown to be what it is today, retaining some of the original staff from the start. Bought out by Tarmac, in 2012, who then formed a Joint Venture company with Lafarge in 2013. This means Newark Concrete now have all the back up and technology of the multi nationals. Whilst at the same time retaining the local management and feel, Lafarge are recognised as an industry leader with regards to Concrete technology and innovation, and this means that all of these advances in technology are now becoming available in Newark. The fleet of lorries are washed down several times a day at both entry and exit of the yard to comply with BSI accredited practices, preventing spillage onto our roads, and thereby ensuring no problems for other road users. Another way that Newark Concrete helps take care of the local environment.

It’s fair to say that the construction industry has found the last few years challenging in the tough economic times we are experiencing. But Newark Concrete have had plenty to keep their staff in work and themselves busy, from supplying coloured concrete for playgrounds, footpaths and driveways, to supplying Newark Cricket and Rugby Clubs, and even Nottingham Forrest training ground. They are one of the sources for the pre cast concrete companies that supplied the Olympic Park, and aircraft take off and land on their product at Waddington , Cranwell and Gamston, to name a few local airfields. So from farmers needing concrete pads to Olympians, concrete is something we all use without even thinking about it. Something tells me that we will still be looking to Newark Concrete in another 25 years for solid local support for our infrastructure.

There are two local plants, one in Grantham and the other in Newark, both of which have supplied many local projects, from the Newark Castle renovations, the recent building of the A46 bypass, and a little known fact – they supplied 20,000m³ to the Tuxford - Long Bennington A1 road improvements. Fernwood stands on concrete they supplied and the footings for the houses are from Newark Concrete. The very ground you are walking on today could be supplied by Newark Concrete.
