Cate and Aliki from the Beanblock Cafe
Where did you grow up? Cate - Lichfield (Staffordshire) Aliki -Greece What was your favourite lesson in school? Cate - I loved art but was rubbish at it. But I did enjoy Biology. Aliki - Art What did you want to be when you grew up? Cate - performer/theatre manager - I ended up working as a speech and language therapist for 15 years before giving it all up for BeanBlock Aliki - wanted to own a hotel but also wanted to be a psychologist as I wanted to help people. How did you meet? In the library at a baby group - we formed the company less than a month after meeting! Our ideas were so aligned. BeanBlock was definitely formed from experience of being parents and trying to eat out with small children.

What is your most favourite part of your job? Seeing relationships formed between parents they come by themselves and get chatting over how sleep deprived they are and the next thing we know they’ve made plans to meet up together.
