Door2Door Volunteer Drivers Door2Door is run by Newark and Sherwood Community and Voluntary Service. Their aim is to provide transport for older people and those unable to use public transport to venues including social and community clubs, shops, and leisure activities. They are currently looking for drivers who have access to a car and a few hours to spare to keep this vital service running. Volunteers will be paid expenses and full training and support will be given. Family Group Volunteer - Home-Start Newark Home-Start helps families with young children deal with whatever life throws at them. They support parents as they learn to cope, improve their confidence, and build better lives for their children. Home-Start are looking for a Family Group Volunteer to help with their supported Family Group sessions, offering listening support to parents/carers and helping families and children play together. They have a great range of activities, equipment, toys, games, and crafts. You would welcome families and help to put them at their ease. You would be involved in laying out the toys and equipment at the start of sessions and putting them away at the end. They also do some additional hygiene at the start and end of sessions due to covid-19 with lots of other covid measures in place to keep everyone safe. Unlock Your You Unlock Your You provide mental health support through their support line and response units. Their volunteers are fully trained and qualified as Mental Health First Aiders. They are looking for volunteers to support the towns mental health needs through face2face support. You will support your town through an 01636 freephone number. people will call this number and express how their feeling through the line or a free EMAIL address. If any person requires face2face support (training provided), you will attend in pairs for safeguarding reasons and support this person where you can. Alongside all this support, you will also be running fundraising events and community driven activities like walks.
