AGRICULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMME CANADA Working on an Agricultural Exchange programme is based around experiencing all that the great country of Canada has to offer. You will get the opportunity to work hands-on on a family owned and operated farm for up to a year. Whether you’re going to gain farming experience or just want a change of scenery, the Agricultural programme may be the next stop for your career and the chance to make life long friends on the way! ADDITIONAL ATTRIBUTES
• Ages 18-30 (you don’t have to be a student)
• Sense of adventure
• Farming experience
• Positive attitude
• Full, clean driving licence (No exceptions)
• Previous work in construction or maintenance skills
• Healthy and physically capable of working the land
• Some mechanical knowledge
• Experience in operating mechanical farm equipment (such as tractors, harvesters, seeding machinery, etc.)
• Ability to drive a truck

rom the moment I arrived, Canada blew away my expectations. The host family I stayed with was great. They took me in as one of their own. I’ve met most of the family and even went to a couple of hockey games with them. Great fun! Everything that was promised before my departure was delivered up when I arrived. I had a nice warm room, plenty of food, Wi-Fi, and was even given my own truck! We all worked on a handful of projects from gardening to construction. Everyone contributed to the building of a new greenhouse that housed the next strawberry batches. And I personally planted many vegetables that were sold at markets for months to come. Working on a farm was a life changing experience. I was never asked to do anything outside of my comfort zone, and I learned a lot. - Daniel

anada did not live up to my expectations… it smashed and surpassed them. When I thought of everything out here my mind couldn’t comprehend what Canada actually would have looked like! So far I have been definitely thrilled by my placement. My host family were amazing! I genuinely could not have asked for better, they treated me like I was part of their family and went out of their way to make sure I have everything I need. I worked ten days on and got four off, so I got to experience Canada on my terms. It’s massive, everything is much bigger here. I would just like to thank USIT for helping me with this experience! I don’t think that I would have ever achieved something like this if it wasn’t for the consistent effort and encouragement from USIT! - Charlie

hat an incredible place! Canada is absolutely stunning, although the weather took some getting used to (Goodness it was cold!), but I absolutely love that country. The house was beautiful and the room was lovely, but I was obsessed with the food! I can’t even begin to describe how delicious it was. I don’t believe I’ve ever eaten so much in my entire life! I really enjoyed the work. It was hands-on and challenged me on a daily basis. In a good way! The time I spent at the farm was second to none. - Brittany
