WHAT’S THE JOB? This is the hardest job you’ll ever have, and you’re going to love every second of it. Our camps have 2 different jobs they’re hiring for: camp counsellors and support staff. It’s your choice which position you want.

CAMP COUNSELLOR

As a camp counsellor you’ll work directly with kids and your main job is to make camp a fun and safe place for the campers. You’ll live in a cabin with kids and co-counsellors and spend your days leading camp activities (such as sailing, arts and crafts, fencing, etc). The evenings are spent participating in evening activities (fancy dress parties, talent shows, camp fires, etc) and the nights bonding with your co-counsellors. Camp is your home for an entire summer, and it’ll be the most memorable summer of your life!

JOBS AVAILABLE: • General Counsellors • Arts Instructors • Land Sports • Performing Arts • Water Sports • Fencing • Horseback Riding • Media and Video • Science • Extreme Sports

SUPPORT STAFF Support staff are the people who are making camp work behind the scenes! You’ll have more time off and you’ll sleep in staff housing, but you won’t be working directly with kids. Think of a summer job while living in a cabin in the woods, with great friends, lots of laughs, a beach at your back door, and free food and accommodation.

JOBS AVAILABLE: • Kitchen • Office • Maintenance • Building / Boat Repairs

• Typing/Data Entry • Cleaning • Chef • Groundskeeping • Electrical

• Woodwork • Outdoor Adventure • Sailing • Culinary Arts • Swimming • Lifeguards • Music Instructors • Trip Leaders • Archery

LOADS MORE!

WHAT’S INCLUDED? • Visa • Insurance • Garda Vetting • 2 days accommodation in Toronto or Montreal

CAMP CANADA TYPES OF CAMPS

AUTUMN CAMP CANADA?

Camp is a place where campers and staff have fun in a community setting, spending their days outside, learning new skills and trying new things. We work with more than 500 camps across Canada, and we’ll find the right one for you.

Traditional Canadian camps often have autumn sessions from late August to November as the leaves change colours and the roasting temperatures slowly fall. Crisp mornings, and hot days that still encourage some lake dips, with cozy evenings roasting marshmallows by the bonfire. It’s still warm, but the activities shift to maple tapping, fly-fishing, mountain biking, hiking and other autumn activities. You’ll live in staff housing most nights, and the option to work in winter camp is often available.

TRADITIONAL CAMPS Most Canadian camps are traditional camps. They have loads of different sports, wilderness, creative arts, and special activities available. Activities on traditional camps can be really broad, and include archery, soccer, woodwork, fencing, water skiing, music and art.

WILDERNESS (TRIPPING) CAMPS Tripping camps have a focus on wilderness tripping activities and involve traveling across a region (sometimes a really large region!) and staying at a new campsite every night. This can involve mountain biking, mountaineering, kayaking, or hiking. Expect bears, moose, caving, jumping through waterfalls, and outdoor cooking. To work in one of these camps a background in orienteering and camping is beneficial, but it’s not essential.

WHY CAMP CANADA? This is the ONLY way to spend a summer working in Canada without losing your opportunity to work on a 2-year IEC visa. You can also make extra money doing opening or closing work, or you can stay on to work in an Autumn Camp (same job, totally different experience). Canadian camps hire for personality and experience with kids - so if you don’t have skills in normal camp activities, that doesn’t matter. If you have a great sense of humour and a love of adventure, camps are looking for people like you.

RELIGIOUS CAMPS Religious camps are usually operated by Christian or Jewish organizations and are very similar to Traditional camps. They’ll have a broad range of activities, and religious study won’t be the major camp activity. You do not need to be religious yourself to work at one of these camps.

SPECIAL NEEDS CAMPS Children with developmental disabilities are provided special attention and facilities making it possible for them to enjoy a range of camp activities. Campers may have physical, emotional, or cognitive disabilities. It’s challenging, but working at a Special Needs camp is one of the most rewarding camp experiences you can have. Special Needs camps may include adult campers.
