olunteering abroad is not for everyone. Our projects are tailored for people who really want to make a difference in developing countries and work closely with the local people to achieve this. For some people it can be quite a culture shock and the reality of home comforts not being readily available can upset people more than they expect it will. When volunteering in developing countries you should expect Things like; • Cold Showers • Power outages at a regular occurrence • No Internet • Bland Food (salt is now your friend) • Smaller food portions • Leaving a piece of your heart behind when it’s time to return home
HOW DO I APPLY TO VOLUNTEER ABROAD? STEP 1: Contact USIT by phone or email: 01 602 1906 / volunteer@usit.ie STEP 2: If you are interested in a particular project or country, request the relevant project info and we will send you the appropriate projects STEP 3: From there we can discuss the project in more detail and finalise your departure dates & payment plan.
WHEN BOOKING YOUR PLACEMENT WITH USIT WE WILL: • Have you Garda Vetted (if you haven’t already done this) • Provide you with relevant Volunteer Travel Insurance • Organise and book your flights for you • Provide you with all the relevant pre-departure information on your chosen project and provide

Our Teaching projects are quite popular for people who are either thinking about going into Teaching or already have Teaching experience and want to help out in communities that are often severely lacking in an Educational structure.

SPORTS

Our sport projects are mainly concentrated on providing professional coaching services to the teenagers of the community. The volunteers are encouraged to use any professional training or past experience they have on particular sports activities to coach the children about the values of sport and the joys of sport.

WILD LIFE
VOLUNTEER DUTIES & ACTIVITIES on Conservation projects varies depending on location
This is our most popular project type. Wild life conservation projects – wildlife conservation can make such a difference to the longevity of certain animal species. If you are an animal lover and would like to make a difference to these animals’ lives and the areas they live in then this really is the type of project for you. With most of the projects you will be dealing with wild animals so you will be up close and personal with the animals, on certain projects you will also get a chance to interact with the animals.

SOCIAL CARE & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PRICING: FR €619 If you would like to work with the elderly, children with disabilities or perhaps you want to improve women’s self-esteem & confidence then this type of project would be suited for you.
