The Music Theory program offers M.A. degrees in music theory. Normally, between two and four students are admitted each year, some with generous teaching assistantships, and they add to a tightly knit community of scholars who both benefit from and add to the intellectual and cultural life of the university. While at Southern Miss, an opportunity to present and publish research will make their future careers and continuing education applications more competitive.
