Transfer Students with less than 24 credits earned after high school graduation: Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR) SOAR is mandatory for transfer students with less than 24 credits. Your first step is to go to www.usu.edu/soar to sign up for a SOAR session. You can choose from several options. Attendance is capped at each SOAR session to provide personalized service and attention. If you have special circumstances requiring you to attend on a specific date, please give us a call at 800.606.4878.

Transfer Students with more than 24 credits earned after high school graduation: Go online, find out what you need to know: We’ve compiled the most relevant USU policies and procedures into a concise, free, online transfer orientation (www.usu.edu/transfer/orientation) that you should go through before contacting your advisor. This will help you become familiar with the way things are done at USU, and it will be well worth your 20 minutes. The orientation will help you contact your advisor and answer some of the most common transfer questions: •How do my credits transfer? •Are all my credits on my USU transcript? •Who is my advisor and how do I contact him/her? •What do I need to do to register for classes? •When can I register for classes? •When are tuition and fees due? •How do I find housing in Logan?

You MUST contact your advisor to register. Before you do: •Make certain all transcripts, including AP scores and concurrent enrollment, have been received by the Admissions Office. Call 800.488.8108 if you have questions about transcripts. •Shortly after admission, you will be able to review your transfer credit evaluation online. You will need to login to Access using your A# at www.usu.edu/myusu. •Know what is required in your major by viewing current requirement sheets and transfer guides at www.usu.edu/transfer and www.usu.edu/degrees. •Prepare for your appointment by having a list of questions ready to ask. •MAKE AN APPOINTMENT NOW so you can register with current students during priority registration (April and November). Understand that advisors are busiest around priority registration dates.
