Deans Luncheon - On behalf of GSM Knoxville, Dean Hauptman
would like to hold an informal, open discussion luncheon with our medical students. The luncheon is scheduled for Wednesday, January 20 at 12:00PM. Space is limited, and you will need to RSVP if you plan to attend. This event will be held in the GSM 3rd Floor Dean’s Conference Room. You will be provided a boxed lunch to take with you after the discussion. This is a great opportunity for him to meet and talk with each one of you and to obtain feedback from you about your educational experience here at the University of Tennessee Graduate School of Medicine. luncheon with the Dean and Dr. Kenyon Railey for a discussion on Disparities in Healthcare. This luncheon is scheduled for Tuesday, January 11th at 12pm in the Dean’s Conference Room located on the 3rd floor of the Graduate School of Medicine building. If you would like to attend and have not RSVP, please let us know. Due to Covid restrictions, space is limited to 12 occupants. Please make sure to check with the clerkship director/course director that you will be rotating with to make sure this luncheon will not interfere in scheduled clinical
duties. Shelf Exams - NBME exams for block 1 will be Friday, January 28 @ 9:00 am. Exams will be proctored
remotely, and you will be receiving an email with instructions soon. Simulation Center - Looking for opportunity to

practice your skills? Our simulation center is open to medical students for additional practice with a faculty member or upper-level resident. Procedures taught at the UT Center for Advanced Medical Simulation include the basics, like gowning and gloving to suturing and drawing blood. Complex procedures may also be available. If you are interested in utilizing the Sims Center, please inquire with your clerkship or course director. For more information, please contact the Simulation Center at 865-305-4626.
