Outdoor Adventures
Tyler is known as America’s Rose Capital, but the natural beauty you will find here goes far beyond our roses. Tall pine trees and foliage define our “big” little city, while the surrounding lakes, parks and natural reserves provide hiking, fishing, boating and camping for year-round excitement. Enjoy a staycation in Tyler State Park, where you can explore hiking trails through the towering pines, or paddle your way around Tyler State Park Lake. Add education and adventure to your weekend by learning about our local underwater world at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Freshwater Fisheries, or head to New York (New York, Texas, that is) for a zip-line tour through the trees. Here in East Texas, the possibilities are endless with fun, adventure and the great outdoors’ breathtaking beauty.
