EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH: QUINCY HOUSTON Congratulations to Quincy Houston, maintenance helper/logistics on being selected as the facilities employee of the month for May 2018 (pictured above along with Executive Vice Chancellor Dr. Kennard Brown (left), Emile J. David (far left), associate vice chancellor, and Kenneth Bradshaw (right), director of facilities). Quincy has an infectious positive attitude in his interactions with everyone and goes above and beyond on many different fronts. He is an exceptional co-worker and always one of the first to volunteer and recently covered not one, but two additional jobs in the logistics department when they were shorthanded. He also stepped up and took the initiative to be a leader and present a well-received training to the new staff. The training empowered the team in their role on the recycling management. He meets all of the necessary criteria for collaboration and productivity to be an outstanding lead person. Lastly, he stepped up when someone was needed to work in the stockroom for two weeks while an employee was on vacation. His superintendent, Jeff Fields said “Quincy is what makes us great.” Quincy’s outstanding performance on a daily basis is witnessed and appreciated campus wide. Thank you Quincy, for always taking pride in your work every day here on campus.

CAMPUS PROJECTS, EMPLOYEES AND EVENTS EMPLOYEE APPRECIATION - MAY 2018 THANK YOU FACILITIES EMPLOYEES FOR DOING A GREAT JOB EACH DAY!

GEB LOBBY

CELEBRATION TIME!

You may have noticed that the first floor of the General Education Building (GEB) has been going through a lot of renovations recently. Along with new carpet in the main corridors and LVT (luxury vinyl tiles) in the Lobby/Café area, the SGAEC (Student Government Association Executive Council) funded new tables, chairs and soft seating in the lobby area.

WELCOME NEW EMPLOYEES

Kari Conrad, Project Manager

Gone is the dark carpet, cherry floors, old dark tables/chairs and the well-worn lounge chairs. In their place are nice bright tables, large lounge chairs and ottomans to give the space a more modern look. Some of the dining tables have the UTHSC LOGO engraved in them and some tables have power, to plug in your technology! Great job, and thank you to everyone involved working to make this space look so much better for the Campus.

ARCHIBUS TIP OF THE MONTH

Carlton Rutherford

Starting this month, we will have tips to assist with the use of Archibus. These tips will come from issues described by the facilities crafts and supervisors or simply refreshing something that may have been forgotten or needing clarification. The intent is to provide continued support for questions pertaining to using the Archibus System.

Patrick Loggins

Lacy Scott, IT Administrator

Tip of the Month: Signing in and out of Archibus is critical to ensure licensing is available to all users. When you have completed your work in Archibus, sign out to return the license back to the pool. Additionally, the system will automatically log you out after 10 minutes of nonactivity. To log out of your application session, click “Sign Out” on the top, right-hand corner of the screen.

INFORMATION SECURITY TIP OF THE WEEK Written by Mary Madeksho | May 2018

What is malware? Malware is software–a computer program–used to perform malicious actions. In fact, the term malware is a combination of the words malicious and software. Cyber criminals install malware on your computers or devices to gain control over them or gain access to what they contain. Once installed, these attackers can use malware to spy on your online activities, steal your passwords and files, or use your system to attack others.
