The 920 Madison 8th floor project is complete. The space was previously the old Eye Bank suite of offices. The space renovation included the removal of old cabinets, and abated walls (by contractor) along with ceilings and old lighting. It also included abating flooring and removing plumbing fixtures. Facilities added new cabinets and a sink in the breakroom, new walls/frames, doors to construct new offices, a reception area and new flooring (carpet and LVT). Great job to our carpenters, electricians, plumbing, fire safety, custodians, movers, and HVAC employees in addition to the IT department.

ENERGY MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT

Jacob Hopper

Leslie Gray, Mechanical Services Manager

The Energy Department has a positive light shining in the form of energy incentives received for the university. The department received $42,067.50 from the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) the second week of April, 2021, for the Mooney Building revitalization Project. After contacting the TVA in the summer of 2018 to inquire if the Mooney Building met the requirements of the TVA EnergyRight for Business and Industry program, a representative from TVA’S engineering department came out to perform a site visit. The project was approved to proceed with the required paperwork to incentivize and everything was submitted. There was a seven step process that TVA had in place to receive final payment to which Leslie, with the help of other facilities personnel, put all the pieces together. A huge thank you to everyone that was instrumental in ensuring the process and paperwork was complete! This is true teamwork, thanks team! STOCKROOM SPOTLIGHT Edwin Jeffres, Director of Operations Great job to Verdale Walters, stock room foreman and Quincy Houston, stockroom clerk. They recently demonstrated outstanding service by going above and beyond their duties. Dale and Quincy exemplify the meaning of teamwork and sacrifice in making sure the auto shop and fleet vehicles continue to operate at normal capacity. They performed the additional functions along with their daily position responsibilities. Keep up the great work!

FACILITIES HR SPOTLIGHT Tracy Horton, Employee Relations Counselor Kameron Lurry joined UTHSC on March 30, 2020. She has been a terrific asset to the Facilities Administration Department.
