EMPLOYMENT
APRIL-JUNE 2019
COMPENSATION Faculty and staff (full time) will receive a 2.0% or $1000 annual increase (whichever is larger) market-based adjustment in state base compensation. The increase is effective July 1st but will be reflected on August paychecks. You must be on payroll prior to July 1 to be eligible for this increase.
RESUME TIPS • Check, check, and recheck your resume for accuracy. Don’t let spelling errors or misused words cause you to miss your dream job opportunity. Don’t rely on spell check. Have a friend review it with fresh eyes.
Pending approval by the UT Trustee Board there will be an increase in the minimum hourly wage to $15 per hour for regular employees. We also review compensation annually to ensure market-based equity and fairness across our multi-campus system.
• Use action verbs in your resume which demonstrate how you have made a difference (such as increased, reduced, improved, etc.). This shows how you have made a positive impact on the organization.
INTERVIEW TIP • Go to the interview with a short list of projects/ accomplishments of which you are most proud. Incorporate these items into the appropriate interview question or mention at the end of the interview during the Q & A time.
Beginning July 1, 2019, the TN Division of Claims and Risk Management will assess a $500.00 departmental penalty:
