Dilli Haat is a market place where the minute you enter, you are slapped in the face by the ethnicity. It is so diverse and changes every few meters. Situated in the heart of Delhi, it is an upgraded version of the traditional weekly market, offering a delightful amalgam of craft, food and cultural activities. It is one of main attraction for both Indians as well as foreign tourists. A wide variety of skillfully crafted handicrafts, intrinsic to each part of the country are available in this exotic bazaar. These range from intricate rosewood and sandalwood carvings, embellished camel hide footwear, to sophisticated fabric and drapery. Gems, beads, brassware, metal crafts, silk and woolens; the range is limitless.
Foreigners flock in to this handicrafts bazaar for that 'India in a microcosm experience.’ About 60-70 % of the visitors are foreign tourists. They are so fascinated by the alluring handicrafts of India that generally they do not return empty handed. With foreign tourists touching base in large numbers, stall keepers from various states had put the best of their merchandise on display. The evening festivities are a major attraction among the visitors. The food plaza also enable visitors to savor the inimitable flavors of the various regions of India. The different stalls offer a wide choice of ethnic food which is clean, hygienically prepared and reasonably priced. It often is a venue for regional food festivals.

VOICE OF THE VISITORS….. Earlier Dilli-Haat was encouraging artisans but now its encouraging traders, as you see the same set of people with same products just changing places throughout the year.
THE HIDDEN CONCEPT BEHIND DILLI HAAT Dilli Haat was established to provide a platform to craftsmen all over the country who were otherwise limited to their villages & towns. The purpose was to get rid of the middlemen and let artisan sell their products directly to Indian & foreign buyers. There are fixed stalls representing many states.
One can also relish variety of cuisines & enjoy the performing arts from different states of the country. It's a joint project of Delhi Tourism and Transportation Development Corporation (DTTDC) and New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC).
It’s really good and it happens..............................!!! Visit India and get merged up with it's tradition.....good luck.

It's located on Aurobindo Marg & opposite INA Market one of the prominent commercial place in South Delhi. The concept was to create a village fair like atmosphere with the difference that it is fixed at one location unlike village fairs. There is an open air stage for music, dance & other such programs.
The DILLI HAAT organizers should give a list of the artisans or the exhibitors with their contact details so that we can be in touch with them all round the year whenever we need the stuff. they don’t provide any directory or brochure to the visitors at least to have a view of the exhibitors and their products. The organizers can have a website at least so that we can check up all the above requirements.
What I love about Dilli Haat is that it is clean, festive, provides a relatively safe and user-friendly experience (meaning strollers can get around, limited steps, etc.) and it's a one-stop-shop for one of the best representations of what's out there as far as handicrafts goes.
One of my favourite things about Dilli Haat is the ability (and almost expectation) to barter and negotiate the prices for the wares you are purchasing. I am a businessman and I visit India every year. due to same product and same traders I am not visiting Dilli Haat anymore, also the prices is not interesting anymore so i go to other wholesale now.
