DEAR UW ALUMNI AND FRIENDS, Your college days may be over, but that doesn’t mean you have to stop learning. Our travel program offers unique opportunities to experience new faces, places and cultures from all across the globe. The best part— you’ll travel with fellow Huskies! Renowned travel writer Tim Cahill says “A journey is best measured in friends, rather than miles.” We invite you to see the world with UW alumni and friends, building new friendships that last long after you’ve returned home. Together, you’ll savor the thrill of travel as you visit exciting destinations and enrich your understanding of other customs. Our tour operators are the best in the business and provide first-class adventures from start to finish. Plus, our program offers incredible value and variety. Some trips are all inclusive, while others give you the flexibility to choose excursions and personalize your vacation. Here are just some of the highlights from our 2010 tour schedule: • Variety—we offer ocean cruises, river cruises and land tours with value in mind. Take your pick, pack your bags. We’ll see you there. • Choose your continent! Africa, Asia, Europe and South America— it’s all here! • Favorite locations—we’re bringing back popular tours to Cortona, Peru and Russia. You don’t want to miss out this time around! • Discover Dubai—join us for our first UW trips to Dubai. Choose from a week-long immersion or a cruise that begins in Singapore and ends in the “City of Gold.” If you love to learn, hunger for new experiences and enjoy journeys of self-discovery, you’ll find all this and more with UW Alumni Tours.

PROGRAMINFORMATION Our Mission

Our goal is to educate the UW community about other peoples and cultures through quality, worldwide travel opportunities. We provide one of the most enriching avenues for alumni and friends to engage with the UW community and each other. The UW Alumni Group Travel Experience

If you have a sense of adventure, a desire to have fun while you learn, and truly enjoy making new friends—you’ll love traveling with us! Group travel lets you sit back and relax because someone else has found the best places to stay, the tastiest places to eat, and the most exciting places to visit in a new destination. It does require that you enjoy traveling with others and are tolerant of the occasional changes, delays and minor mishaps that come with any kind of travel. While our tour operators will do their best to see to individual needs, their principal concern must be the welfare of the group as a whole. Educational Component

Each of our tours has an educational component that varies from trip to trip. Some trips may be accompanied by UW faculty, or a co-sponsoring university may provide a lecturer with ties to the destination. Our campus abroad tours include lectures by on-site local experts, while other trips include highlyeducated local guides who provide daily commentary. Eligibility and Membership

Every UW alumni tour is open to all UW alumni, their families and friends of the University. Because the travel program is a benefit of membership in the UW Alumni Association, it is required that one person per reservation be a member of the UWAA. Current annual membership dues are $50 for individuals under 65 years of age, and $35 for individuals over 65 years of age. To join, visit www.UWalum.com or call 1-800-289-2586. Tour Operators

Our tours are run by professional tour operators that have expertise in specific destinations. When we agree to work with a tour operator, it has met or exceeded our criteria for financial responsibility, established reputation, professional staff, quality operations and all-around dependability. Air Arrangements

Group air arrangements are available through the specific tour operator. By choosing the tour operator’s group air package, you take advantage of discounted airfares but don’t have the flexibility of choosing the air carrier or specific route. Of course, you may also make your own air arrangements to suit your travel preferences.

PROGRAMINFORMATION Cancellations and Refunds

Tour participants are subject to the cancellation policies governing the particular trip in which they are enrolled. Cancellation policies are outlined on a tour’s brochure. Please note: Trip cancellation insurance is available at an additional cost and is highly recommended. Release of Liability & Waiver Form
