2013

When asked by acquaintances “what do you do,” I often reply with “I fulfill dreams!” After all, who hasn’t spent minutes, or maybe hours, daydreaming about traveling to faraway places – places with sights, sounds and tastes unlike anything at home. If you’re like Susan and I, you’ve been daydreaming of exotic destinations ever since you can remember. Isn’t it time to start making those dreams come true by traveling with us in 2013?

Spotlight on a UW Favorite

Once again, we have so many wonderful travel opportunities to offer that we know it will be hard to settle on just one. Certain trips sell out year-after-year, so if you haven’t yet had a chance to take our Vietnam, China, Machu Picchu to Galapagos, Egypt, Africa’s Wildlife or Turkey tours, we’ve brought them back for an encore. Of course, we have many new itineraries to whet your appetite, including: Ecuador: Experience the Amazon Rainforest and learn about Ecuadorean culture

Pearls of Dalmatia…with Dubrovnik and the Island of Hvar October 7 – 21, 2013

2013

There are so many special things to see and do in Croatia, a country possessing remarkable history, culture and a pristine coastline. It’s a destination just waiting for you to discover and once you’ve been there, it’s a place you won’t soon forget.

Imagine walking through the busy and cosmopolitan city of Zagreb, with its beautiful gardens and ornate opera house. Visiting enchanting Dubrovnik, the ‘Pearl of the Adriatic,’ especially at night when the streets are quiet and the ancient walls of the city are dramatically illuminated. My UW group discovered gelato shops galore, with many of us making repeated visits to our favorite one! From sharing a wonderful meal with a family in Split; to standing on the hillside in Hvar, taking in the spectacular views of lavender fields; my Croatia memories entice me to return.

I am so glad I took this tour. From watching the sunset in Hvar from my hotel window overlooking the beautiful harbor, to visiting the gorgeous Plitvice Lakes, it was a wonderful experience. Susan Haris, ‘67

So many lasting memories! Zagreb was a perfect place to start with its parks, art and walkability. Hvar and Opatja are such memorable picturesque cities…we’ll be back. Don, ’50, & Ruthie, ’56, Kallander
