Celebrating Black Excellence Arts Competition

ARTS COMPETITION This year we announced the winners of the Celebrating Black Excellence Arts Competition that run from 26 October to 18 December 2020. Organised by Augusta, Joey and Sam from The Students' Union Presidents Team, the aim of the competition was for students to share creative pieces about Black History, people, culture and excellence via The Students' Union social media. Entries included a rap video, poems, paintings and illustrations. First, second and third place won cash prizes and a certificate and all others participant received certificates and vouchers.

The Students' Union at UWE

As part of the Celebrating Black Excellence campaign, The Students’ Union President (Augusta), Vice President Community and Welfare (Joey) and Vice President Societies and Communication (Sam) introduced the Arts competition as an important element of the campaign. The main aim of this competition was to present an opportunity to all UWE Bristol students to share creative pieces about Black History, people and culture in order to raise awareness of Black Excellence through social media. We had brilliant entries which included a rap video, poems, paintings and illustrations. The first, second and third place winners received cash prizes and certificates and others received participant certificates and vouchers for their engagement with the competition.
