WE WILL HOST A CONFERENCE THAT VALUES:
ACCESSIBILITY • We want a conference that is open to all; small institution, large institution, growing RAG, established RAG, FE, HE. RAG Conference should be and will be accessible to all. • Our conference will be one of the most physically accessible conferences ever, with all venues and accommodation within 4 minutes of each other with full disabled access. • Be part of a conference that will be operationally accessible, with alternative activities and catering for all.
IMPACT
CELEBRATION • Student fundraising has a spark which should be harnessed and celebrated. Our conference will enable you to take control of your spark and celebrate successes. • At UWE Bristol we believe charity makes people happy. Be part of a conference that brings happiness to everyone. • Success is different to each of us, we recognise this and our conference will enable you not to be someone else, but celebrate yourself for who you are.
COLLABORATION
• What we all do is amazing and we should be able to demonstrate that. Our conference will have a keynote that addresses how we demonstrate our impact.
• Collaboration is key. We work stronger when we collaborate with our charities and partners. Conference needs to enable these partnerships to strengthen.
• At its core, our conference will help you to understand your impact and how this can flourish year on year.
• Be part of a conference that shows collaboration means growth, and more focus on the charities fair will deliver success for all.
• Be part of a conference that holds workshops on growth and development and where each session is tailored to suit each one of you.
• We want conference to focus more on charities - we will work with them to deliver a conference that is attractive to them too.
SUSTAINABILITY • Sustainability is more than just recycling: it’s about social justice as well. • Be part of a conference that reduces its environmental impact and produce resources that can be used again at next conference. • In terms of financial sustainability, we have looked to keep conference at the same price or lower where possible. Any additional income will be used to lower ticket prices.
The Students’ Union at UWE is proud and excited to bid for the RAG Conference 2018. Myself and the Board recognise the importance of fundraising and volunteering as part of the student experience and are fully in support of the bid. With the huge strides in fundraising we have made in the past two years, 2018 would be a perfect time for UWE Bristol to continue this development and inspire the next generation of fundraisers.
