Halls Allocation Procedure Complete the online application form straight away even if you are waiting for exam results or if Cardiff Met is your insurance choice. The date of your online application is used when we allocate you a hall (first come first served).
Priority for a room in Halls Students must meet the following criteria for a guaranteed place in University-approved accommodation To meet the criteria for guaranteed accommodation, students need to: have never been a full time student at Cardiff Met in the past. have accepted an offer of a place at Cardiff Met and made us your first choice through UCAS. submit your online halls application for accommodation to us no later than 31st May. need the accommodation for the full letting period as a single occupant. accept our offer of accommodation, and pay your deposit to us, within seven days of us issuing the offer. not be a “local” student as set out in our Halls Allocation Policy. Priority for a room in Halls of Residence is given to first year students. When allocating rooms we take into consideration the distance students live from Cardiff and the date the online Application for Halls was received. Welsh speakers will be able to inform us if they prefer to live with fellow Welsh speakers. Depending upon demand we will endeavor to meet that preference.
Students classed as local The allocations Policy is reviewed each year depending on demand for halls of residence. If your home address is in Cardiff, Newport or the Vale of Glamorgan Local Authority areas, you will be placed on a waiting list and allocated a room near to the start of term, or once term has started. Some years we will experience particularly high demand for Halls, in which case the following Local Authority areas will also be placed on a waiting list until halls become available.
