2024–25 SEASON

WELCOME

Our 2024-25 concert season kicks off in early October with a multimedia album release celebration by violinist Rachel Lee Priday (Oct. 8) and wraps up in early June with performances by our students performing winning concerto excerpts with the UW Symphony Orchestra (June 6). In between are dozens of additional performance and music-related events presented by our faculty, students, and guest artists.

Special guests joining us in 2024-25 include “The President’s Own” U.S. Marine Band (Oct. 30), making a third return appearance at the UW, School of Music alumnus Zhao-Rong “Peter” Chen, now on the faculty of several well-regarded institutions throughout China, returning to headline a Flute Celebration Day presented by the School of Music and the Seattle Flute Society (Nov. 10), and several guest ensembles, including Harmonia, performing concerto excerpts with UW Piano Students (Feb. 20), Seattle Modern Orchestra, performing a Joël-François Durand tribute concert (March 12), Eroica Trio (April 16), presenting an evening of chamber music, and Ekmeles Vocal Ensemble (May 22), performing new vocal works by UW faculty composers. At the heart of every concert season at the School of Music is a multitude of performances by our students, in large and small ensembles, small groups, solo, and sometimes on the podium as conductors of their own ensembles. Dates and details are included in this publication, and on our website at music.washington.edu/upcoming. We invite you to join us this season for one or more of our planned performances.
