When friends and business partners Toni King and Sarah Molnar decided to purchase a cabin together in Blue Ridge, Georgia, they thought that it would just be a simple place for their families to get away and enjoy being outside. But what these ladies found was a place of peace that would create a lifetime of memories.

This rustic four-bedroom, three-and-a-half-bath cabin sits beautifully on the Toccoa River. The lot features 130 feet of river frontage which has offered hours of fun for the King and Molnar families. “I loved it when my kids were little and they would play outside for hours building forts and rock towers, having scavenger hunts, and wading/floating in the river,” said Sarah. “As they have gotten older, they love kayaking, going to downtown Blue Ridge or McCaysville to walk around and get ice cream or fudge, and picking apples at Mercier Orchards.”

While the property sits beautifully in a quiet mountain town, there is a lot that is offered in this thriving community, like the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway which passes through the property. “When we bought the cabin, there was a large wooden cutout of Bigfoot next to the railroad tracks where the Blue Ridge

Scenic Railway passes,” said Toni. “At some point, the Bigfoot cutout disappeared. We found out later that it was one of the train’s ‘points of interest’ when one of our friends who happened to be on the train told us that the conductor said, ‘We used to see Bigfoot in this area, but he has apparently moved on’. We felt so bad, that we purchased a new Bigfoot and secured it to a tree next to the tracks. Now it is once again a beloved part of the tour!”

The expansive outdoors isn’t the only thing offered with this rare property. The cabin itself boasts grand, vaulted ceilings, a spacious, open-concept kitchen, and lots of space for storage. From the kitchen, you can see through the dining area and out onto the back deck via beautiful french doors and the living area houses a bold, floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace. The deck off of the main bedroom means you wake up to beautiful mountain views each and every morning. The master bathroom has a corner tub, walk-in shower, and large vanity. More incredible mountain views are offered from the loft that overlooks the main living area while a den provides a cozy space with a fireplace, bunkroom, and bathroom.

The home provides plenty of space and has seen its share of visitors come and go. While currently being offered part-time as a short-term vacation rental, it has also been the site of a mid-Covid retreat. “In 2020, when my daughter’s last year of summer camp was canceled due to COVID-19, my friend and I decided to host a small group of girls from Cabin 12 so that they could spend their last summer together before aging out of camp,” said Toni. “The girls, from Rome, Atlanta, North Carolina, and South Carolina, were all tested before they arrived and we were able to keep them outside for most of the weekend. They went white water rafting on the Ocoee River, hiking in the Aska recreation area, floated and waded in the Toccoa river, ate dinner by the campfire, and slept in hammocks down by the water. It was an adventure they will always remember.”

For those who enjoy trout fishing, this is the place for you. Easy access to the river means you are in the water and catching fish in no time. “My favorite part of spending time at the cabin is waking up before the rest of the family, pulling on my waders, and getting in a few peaceful hours of trout fishing in the morning light just steps out of the back door,” said Toni’s husband, Rob King. “The babbling of the river is the only sound you hear and it is a perfect way to start another day of adventure in Blue Ridge.”

This property has so much to offer, you won’t ever find yourself bored. “Over the years what I think my kids have loved the most is learning how to build their own fire for making s’mores and then running up to the house to get in the hot tub,” said Sarah. “Where I live I don’t have much of a backyard, but I have been able to give them the woods and a river to make their own adventures.”

So whether you are looking for a place to retreat for some R&R or looking for your forever home, this Blue Ridge beauty provides a unique experience perfect for either.

5 Tips To Build Strength

1. Warmup. Starting every workout with 5-10 minutes of moderate cardio gets the blood flowing to our muscles, preventing injury and carrying the nutrients muscles need to contract.

2. Compound exercises. The “Golden Five”; squat, deadlift, pullup, overhead press, and bench press. These movements, when done correctly, use large foundational muscles throughout the body to give other exercises a strong base to work from.

3. Progressive overload. As you get stronger, gradually increase the weight, the reps, or both. Listen to your body and progress safely. If you have energy after 12 reps at 30lbs, see how 15 reps at 30 lbs feels, or how 12 reps at 35lbs.

4. Time under tension. Going slow builds strength, going fast builds endurance. Control the movement throughout the contraction and eccentric motions. The more time your muscles are under pressure the stronger they’ll get.

5. Breath. A strong core benefits every lift. Line your breathing up with the tempo of your lifts. Inhale through the nose on the eccentric movement, exhale fully on the conctaction. This will engage every part of your core to help keep a strong, stable base on the lift.
