OUR STUDIOS La Bella Vita Studios provide luxurious accommodation in a secure lifestyle estate for those who want to be immersed in the peaceful beauty of nature. Magnificent views stretch over sun-splashed vineyards. Situated amongst the awe-inspiring Du Toitskloof, Simonsberg and Franschhoek mountains, our studios are a short drive away from the historic towns of Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch. The Estate is made up of 160ha of land waiting to be explored. The time spent at our studios is yours to cherish - hop on a bicycle or discover slowly on foot.
Little things are big to us. We always take the time to make small gestures that leave lasting impressions. Freshly picked foliage in your bedroom, local tea and fruit in your kitchen, and spaworthy bath products in your bathroom.
OUR CAPE WINELANDS With Franschhoek, Paarl, and Stellenbosch all a stone's throw away, La Bella Vita is surrounded by mouthwatering restaurants, trendy boutiques, and legendary wine estates. Many guests choose to spend their stay nearby, taste testing their way through the vineyards and enjoying concerts and festivals at nearby farms. Others venture out—Cape Town's V&A Waterfront is just a 40 minute drive away, and shark cage diving is a two-hour drive from our rentals in Gansbaai. Whatever adventure you're looking for, we're here to help you find it.

LA BELLA VITA'S GUIDE TO THE CAPE WINELANDS... A Quick Orientation... Surrounded by natural scenery, our studios are a quick 40-minute drive from Cape Town International Airport. You'll need a car to experience the beauty and excitement of the Cape Winelands—please let us know if you need any suggestions on arranging for a rental. Uber is also active in our area. Once you've arrived, you'll have endless options for dining, recreation, and sightseeing. La Bella Vita is within five minutes of Paarl, South Africa's third oldest town, and 10 minutes of top-rated restaurants, plenty of grocery stores, two golf courses, and world-class wineries. The university town of Stellenbosch and the culinary capital of Franschhoek are each only a 15-minute drive away.
Our 3 all-time favorite places to eat... Lust Bistro & Bakery Just five minutes away, Lust Bistro & Bakery is beloved for its fresh ingredients, homemade bread and laidback vibes. Choose from a menu of classics and innovative new dishes, like butternut crumpets with bacon and caradmom-bitter-orange syrup.
Babel Plan ahead: Babel, is a world-class farmto-fork restaurant, Book for dinner or lunch months in advance or try and reserve a table online for breakfast with a few day's notice. Alternatively opt for lunch in the greenhouse restaurant behind the garden.
3 for the Wine Lovers La Motte...
Drive 15 minutes to taste a carefully curated selection of fine wines at La Motte, owned by the Ruperts, one of the wealthiest families in South Africa. While you're there, enjoy lunch at an outdoor table and stop to browse the gift shop.
Delaire Graff Estate...
Indulge in fine wines and breathtaking valley views 15 minutes away at Delaire Graff Estate, owned by a world famous jeweler. Unwind in a lounge with artwork and floor-to-ceiling windows, or on the gorgeous outdoor terrace.
Glen Carlou...
Gaze at spectacular vineyard and valley views and wander the fine art gallery while sipping reds, whites, and sparklings at Glen Carlou, just five minutes from our rentals. Visit at lunchtime for a small but delectable menu.
Goatshed Open for breakfast and lunch every day, Goatshed serves up handroasted coffee , homebaked breads and various hearty dishes. Be sure to visit their sister farm, Spice Route, next door, and to pick up some wine and cheese from the tasting room.
3 for the Kids Lion Sanctuary...
Drakenstein Lion Park rescues captive born lions in distress and gives them a safe haven. Arrive early for feeding time (4 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays) for an up close view. You can even spend a night in the den!
Horseback Riding...
Saddle up for a gentle ride into the wildlife sanctuary at Pete's Adventure Farm. Your warm and gracious host will lead you past giraffes, springbuck, kudus, zebras, and more. No horseback riding experience necessary!
Bugz Playpark...
Colorful, imaginative, and a whole lot of fun, Bugz Playpark is a favorite amongst the little ones. Kids aged 2-8 will love riding the choo choo train or swing horses, gliding down the wave slide, or making new friends in the tree house.
3 Experiences Not to Miss... Catch the Wine Tram... Journey into the heart of the Franschhoek Valley on the Franschhoek Valley Wine Tram. Part sightseeing, part winery tour, this open air tour offers endless vineyard and valley views and takes you past many of the areas most esteemed wine estates. Hop off to tour a cellar, grab lunch, or wander the vineyards, then hop back on at your own leisure. Each line showcases eight vineyards in different parts of the valley.

Historic Winery and Garden Lunch... With its preserved historic details—including thick cobwebs—Muratie has a story to tell. Stop in to explore the 1600s farm and sip the bubbly Lady Alice in the tasting room. Then, continue on a scenic drive down Knorhoek Road to Delheim Winery Restaurant for lunch on the outdoor garden patio. Try the fishcakes, a local favorite, and end with a dessert wine and slice of cheesecake.

Chocolate & Brandy Tastings... Experience A Taste of Decadence at the KWV Wine Emporium. World renowned for its brandy, this cellar in Paarl offers a truly sweet experience. Taste four Belgian chocolates made in the valley, paired with four of their finest brandies. Sweet wine/liquer and cake tastings and tea and chocolate tastings are also available for those with both a sophisticated palate and a sweet tooth.

Backsberg Picnic Concerts...
Find a toe-tapping, wine-sipping experience just five minutes from our studio. Visit Backsberg Estate Cellars for Sunday evening concerts all throughout March, or try and catch the occasional winter evening jazz concert. Missed the show? We'd still recommend visiting for Sunday lunch, where you can indulge in spit braai meat right off the bone.
Our Favorite Restaurants in Town...
We couldn't pick just one, so we'll let you in on our two absolute favorites. Try Blacksmith's Kitchen for laidback vibes, beautiful views, local wines, and Mediterranean-inspired fare in old blacksmith cottages. Or head to Hussar Grill in Paarl for mouthwatering steaks in a traditional steakhouse setting. Neither will disappoint.
Beer and Tunes...
Just around the corner from our rentals, Anura normally closes its doors come evening. But on Wednesday nights, this winery and brewery invites guests in for fresh made pizza and beer, usually accompanied by live music. Taste your way through their craft beer menu while kicking back and enjoying some tunes.
