CASHMON The Personal Finance Manager At the beginning of the year, we worked with an emerging startup for a few weeks.

Together we built a simple personal finance manager to help people track their finances. We appreciated the cooperation and wish CashMon a lot of success.

The Story At the beginning of 2013, we got a call from Juraj Bachleda, a graphic designer at CashMon, regarding an opportunity to develop a web application for them. Peter KovĂĄÄ?, the CEO of CashMon, was looking for a skilled development team to create a high-performance web app, which would easily benefit someone by putting all of their financial data together in one place.

Solution Overview We were focused on developing a minimal viable product and launching as soon as possible. There is definitely an infinite number of features that you could build into such a product, so we needed to find the key few ones to begin with.

Finally, we agreed on a simple solution consisting of three pages.

Income and expenditure management This is the place where you keep your financial records in order. Few precisely crafted tools come to help you with this important task.

Statistics The stats panel aims to help you find where you get the most of your income and where you spend the most.

Settings To assure the application fits users needs, it provides some degree of customization.

The single-page application If you have to wait even a second after every action you perform on the web, it really sucks. We believe in fast responsive applications and, hopefully, with modern web technology, this can be achieved!

We created CashMon as a single page app that is completely controlled by JavaScript communicating with a server purely by Ajax. This way, we are able to respond to user actions instantly without needing to download any pages from the server.
