has been a tremendous start to 2020. Already, we’ve had the Thailand Yacht Show pull investors and visitors from Thailand and the SEA region to Phuket, showcasing the island’s position as a premier yachting and lifestyle destination. InterContinental Phuket Resort officially opened to much acclaim, with its stunning design and idyllic setting. Then there’s the exciting lineup of events still in the works for the months to come. We’ve just begun a new lunar year - the year of the rat. According to the zodiac animal descriptions, the rat is a witty, acute thinker, yet perfectly happy with a peaceful life. Despite our commonly held perceptions of this wise creature, perhaps these are characteristics we could all try to emulate. In the months to come, we hope that you continue to make the best of what you have. Do your utmost in your work, spend time with your family, take care of yourself, and, of course, remember to see the brighter side of life.

Cafe Hopping Through Phuket Phuket has a vast array of Cafes. Drive down the highway, take a walk in the old town, stroll along the shops lining the sands of the beaches, head to shopping malls and outlets, or visit pretty much any tourist hotspot on the island - you’ll find somewhere to stop and grab a cup of coffee.

That’s not the point here, though. In our Cafe Hopping Through Phuket series, we’ll bring you the more authentic, local side of the Café offering on the island. You’ll find renovated wine cellars, unassuming shophouses, hillside hotspots and hidden tearooms. We’ll show you where to get your daily coffee fix and let the local flavours take you on a journey through Phuket.
Hidden inside a quiet soi, just off the tourist-laden Yaowarat street, you’ll find a white wall featuring a gracefully colourful motif. It hovers above the glass entrance to the cafe. This is Sri The Shophouse. Dai and Byul run this establishment, and it’s the duo that you’ll meet when you step inside. C, the cafe, is an airy, light space and the first section of the renovated shophouse. Here, the two owners handcraft artisan beverages of your choosing. While you wait for your latte, you can walk through to the next section of the shophouse. She, the store, offers their signature skincare products and accessories along with an
Instagram photo opportunity you’ll be hardpressed to miss. If at this point there’s a rumble in your tummy, you could walk through to Si — the restaurant, where you can indulge in a sumptuous breakfast or brunch created by the talented chef. Here, you’ll find another prime Instagram photo opportunity. Once you’re ready to leave; tummy full and latteto-go in hand, walk up to See — the gallery, where you’ll find the work of talented local artists and yet another selfie opportunity. We’d recommend you try out their signature ‘Cloud’ or ‘Heart’ deserts along with your latte for the full shophouse experience.

Впрочем, речь сейчас не об этих кафе. В цикле «Кофейни Пхукета» мы рассказываем вам о более аутентичной части кофейной сцены Пхукета, о местном прочтении идеи кофейни. Здесь вас ждут кофейни в отреставрированных винных погребах и непритязательных шопхаусах, кофейни с панорамными видами на окрестности и о скрытые от посторонних глаз чайные. Вас ждет не просто очередная доза кофеина, но настоящее путешествие вокруг Пхукета вслед за ароматами местного кофе.

В заведении хозяйничают Дай и Бйул, которых вы и встретите лично, когда только войдет внутрь. Само же место — это своего рода четыре в одном. В первом от входа помещении недавно отреставрированного шопхауса располагается С — the cafe, свободная кофейня в светлых тонах. Здесь владельцы собственноручно готовят авторские напитки на кофейной основе. Пока они будут колдовать над вашим латте, вы сможете заглянуть в следующую секцию шопхауса, She — the store. Здесь
располагается их магазин фирменных косметических товаров и аксессуаров. И если у вас есть Instagram, то едва ли вы удержитесь от фото. Если в животе вдруг начнет урчать, то можно пройти дальше, в Si — the restaurant. Здесь подают обильные завтраки и бранчи, придуманные талантливым местным шеф-поваром. Поснимать для Instagram в ресторане тоже захочется. Наконец, приятно перекусив и захватив стаканчик с латте, заглядывайте в See — the gallery, где вас ждут работы местных одаренных художников и еще одна возможность для селфи.
