What Is Value Added Selling? January 23, 2015
One important part of sales and marketing on the Internet is what I call value added selling. This is a technique that separates professional Internet marketers from newbies and people who are not professional in their approach.
So what is value added selling? In this video Tom Reilly, the author of the book that started The Value Selling Revolution, explains what value added selling is
To me it is all about offering more value to a prospective customer before you try and sell them something. Professional marketers would summarize a value added selling definition as offering more then you promise. It is really about over delivering and it is a business philosophy that shows up in everything you do. It is apparent in the complete sales cycle and it starts with how you interact with a prospect. There are many value added selling techniques. In my case I am blogging and I am offering tips and advice on a variety of topics as they relate to building a brand online.
Here Are Some Of The Ways I Am Doing Value Added
1. Email marketing. Sending out information is a great way to build a brand. You can customize your messages so they contain your company logo. When someone sees a message from you they relax because they are familiar with you and they know it is not a spam email message.
2. List building. Building a email list is a long term strategy that is highly recommended by all successful Internet marketers. It is also a great way to combine email marketing and blogging as the two go hand in hand.
3. Trust. You can never have enough of this on the Internet. There are way to many scams online and it is harder to sell something to someone who does not know you and trust you then it is otherwise.
4. Relationship building. This certainly ties into value added selling.
You are not going for a one time sale. Actually you are not even trying to sell anything initially. You are trying to get to know people and understand their needs and interests. This takes time and is more easily accomplished through several steps. I like the idea of blogging, building a list on my blog, following up via email with an autoresponder, and sending out useful information. All of this is done before even asking my subscribers to buy anything. Do you understand the VALUE of approaching Internet marketing and selling this way? I hope so because I would like to get to know you and look forward to helping you make money in the future. Feel free to contact me. Share this post and help spread the love!
