One of the many great things about the Internet, and social media in particular, is how easy it is to create your brand. I should say it is easy if you approach it in the right way. That is what I want to accomplish in this article. I want to give you a few tips on branding your online business using social media.

1. What are you known for? You might want to think about this as what are you the expert at? I highly recommend you to find out what your strengths are. Sometimes, what we are good at, is not obvious to us. Here is what Dr.Brandon Smith says about it:

“Over the years of working with thousands of individuals in both clinical and professional settings, what’s become clear to me are the following: 1. Everyone has talents and most of us have discovered some our talents and translated those into strengths (through time, effort and hard work) but few of us have discovered all of our talents 2. Most people aren’t consciously aware of or able to label their talents and strengths. We use them, but we are largely unaware of their presence and never call them out by name”

Your goal in business is to become known for something. If you’re in the business of helping people start their own home business then start branding yourself as the expert at that.

2. Be consistent in presenting your brand. As you join various social sites use the same logo, pictures, color scheme. company and personal name and so on. The same could be said if you are doing email marketing and sending out emails to your list. Include your company logo on each email.

The point is that people get used to seeing you in the same way. Social media is really good at helping you do that.

3. Be active. Get online every day and interact with people in all of the social sites you join. Social media will not help you unless you are actively involved in the various platforms that you enroll in. For example, if you have a Twitter account and you’re never tweeting nobody’s ever going to see you. If you’re not adding new followers you cannot get your brand message out in the marketplace. Once you’ve taken the time to join Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, and whatever other social networks you want to be in, then get busy and participate on a regular basis.

A really good Internet marketing forum is the Warrior Forum. You can do a Google search to find specific forums that are relevant to the niche your business is in and you should join some of those and participate in the discussions. The more you participate the more people get used interacting with you and it can do a world of good to your online business. You do not need to let the idea or branding your business online overwhelm you thanks to the various avenues available through social media! What is your strength, what are you expert at? Are you branding actively your business on Social Media? Are you consistent?
