2024 STAKEHOLDERS REPORT
Dear Ski Racing Friends, Partners, Volunteers, and Sponsors,
The 2024 Stifel Birds of Prey Audi FIS Ski World Cup marked a historic milestone for our community as we welcomed the world's fastest men and women to race on the iconic Birds of Prey course. For the women, this was the first time in history for them to compete on the Birds of Prey Downhill course. It was amazing to witness the talent of both the men's and women's athletes across back-to-back competition weekends. Beautiful weather allowed these incredible athletes to truly showcase their skills on our challenging course, with Austrian star Cornelia Huetter claiming victory in the inaugural women's downhill, and Switzerland sweeping the men’s races with first-place finishes in all three disciplines. We were also thrilled to see Olympic legend Lindsey Vonn forerun the course as she makes her return to Alpine World Cup skiing.
These historic back-to-back weekends showcased both our venue's world-class capabilities and our community's exceptional dedication. From the high-energy bib draws and athlete meet-and-greets to the non-stop live music, the first ever Stifel Birds of Prey Alpine Affair event, and more, Beaver Creek came alive with an unforgettable 10-day festival that celebrated ski racing at its finest. This achievement would not be possible without our nearly 800 volunteers, dedicated sponsors, generous donors, the tireless staff of the VVF, and our partners, including Vail Resorts, Beaver Creek Mountain, Beaver Creek Resort Company, U.S. Ski & Snowboard, the International Ski Federation (FIS), the U.S. Forest Service, and Ski & Snowboard Club Vail, as well as our entire ski racing and Eagle River Valley community.
Sincerely,
Mike Imhof, Vail Valley Foundation President
